Installer Status
Hello, The installer is basically done. Here's a rundown of what's included in the latest patch. 1. The webbuilder and ejbbuilder namespaces are set correctly depending on the web container selected. 2. Either Jetty(default) or Tomcat may be selected, but not both. 3. The LDAP realm is being configured 4. installed scripts are made executable 5. Jetty and Tomcat samples are selectable and install successfully 6. LDAP demo is selectable and installs 7. Port selections are validated against each other to prevent conflicts between installed services 8. The SMTP transport is configurable, but does not currently run(the config is not installed in config-store even though the deps in project.xml seem correct). The latest patch is posted to GERONIMO-1192. This JIRA has quite a few patches posted. For clarity, it might be a good idea to close 1192 and open another if more patches are required. -- Regards, Erik
Installer Status
The installer builds successfully under the new build process. The installer is built using the geronimo-izpack-plugin from assemblies/j2ee-installer. When the installer runs, it will create a runnable server, but the configuration is currently fixed to Jetty. I'm working to get the config.xml updated based on the configuration options selected and should complete the work tomorrow. Unfortunately, it's been a very long day and I won't make the midnight cutoff. There are two other additional pieces of work yet to do: 1. Inter-panel validation of conflicting configuration information i.e. conflicting ports 2. Selection of either Jetty or Tomcat, but not both -- Regards, Erik

I put a patch out for JIRA 1189 which will create the installer from the output of David Jencks' assemblies work. The installer is created from a new plugin (plugins/geronimo-izpack-installer). There's still a good deal of work to do though. -- Regards, Erik
Installer Status
So we are now just a couple steps away from having the assembly module build an installer package as well as the ZIP package (though there's still plenty of room to *improve* the install routine. :) The main problem is that we're relying on a HEAD version of the IzPack installer, which is newer than their most recent release. I assume I could just slap a date in the filename of the copy I'm working from and put it in one of our temporary Maven repos. Those are: http://www.mortbay.org/maven http://www.openejb.org/maven http://dist.codehaus.org I'm not sure if I have access to the codehaus ones there -- and I'm pretty sure I don't have Mortbay. Can someone help me get the IzPack JAR onto one of those? Thanks, Aaron
