   Fixing the search bar style by making those changes:
   
   1) Making the search bar more large
   2) Fix the input field height to be aligned with the search button
   3) Set the search icon in the middle of the search button
   
   Changes are made for desktop and mobile versions, the difference is shown in 
the screenshot below:

Putting it like that is actually refreshingly funny ;-)

My 10 cents: If using the more official logo based on a five-pointed 
star in the required size does not run into the technical problems I 
have (independent of my own like or dislikes of the logo) given, I would 
use that, it is most likely the better known one and I don't see that 
changing in the near or intermediate future.
