Sorry for posting this here, posted it in the user list, and got no response..
 
I've got a clean vanilla install of apache 2.0.46, that for some unknown reason shuts down after ~5 minutes.
It's a simple installation (only ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache2 --enable-so).
The only non-standard thing is that this apache instance runs on port 81 (its a test server)-
since there's another instance of apache (production) running on 80 (the apache on port 80 is 2.0.44).
 
I've tried to run the test apache on other ports (not only 81), still, I keep getting
"[notice] caught SIGTERM, shutting down" in the error log after ~5 minutes.
 
Is that a known problem or so?
