Re: Re: [l10n-dev] Latest POT files
You can also have your existing translation imported to online translation management tool at http://pootle.arsaperta.org and have it updated as the new milestone comes. The tool also offers some good featues, like detailed statistics, task and goal assignment, as well as online and offline translation. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

You can update ur translations to latest milestones. Please use tools like pomigrate2 and pot2po from http://translate.sf.net to do that. -Raman On 11/3/06, Pema Geyleg <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Dear all, I am coordinating the openoffice localization for Dzongkha language. Re: Re: [l10n-dev] Collection user additons to spell check dictionary
It sounds very interesting, especially for the languages without any existing spellchecking dictionaries, neither pure wordlist, nor language model based ones. But I would refrain from distributing the dictionaries without approving each word first. Regards, Aiet - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Without a real name and contact information it may be too difficult to establish if the information is properly contributed according to the license agreement. Many people are affraid about their privacy and won't probably contribute under real name. Generaly the contents of private dictionary can be sensitive information. In wikipedia You also don't know real names of articles and it works. If anonymous user sends his data and agrees with licence, it's OK with me. About the licence - if a dictionary is licensed under GNU/LGPL + MPL this means that it can be used in any other project, beside OOo and Mozilla (maybe the licence agreement in the macro should be more specific or maybe there could be a link to the (localized) version of all mentioned licences). What kind of software do you use on the server, can we have a look at it? In fact is is not software ;-) its just very short script, which only implements procol, which have been chosen for communication between macro and web. Its written in PHP, for final version I will prefer python, in case, that I won't find someone to write it and I will continue to develop the backend. But I am also sysadmin, I am not programmer. What will be the result of this project? a) a service, hosted on some server, where a group can apply, get one admin access for her language, who can than arrange other people in her group? Something like TCM (http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Test_Case_Management)? Who will run/arrange/admin it? b) sources (database definitions, PHP/Python scripts ...) for setting up your own project on your own server? (create a central project somewhere (like sf.net), language groups developers download the sources, install on some local server, extend the functionalities and contribute the code ...)? Hello Eike, Peter already contacted me a while ago and we talked; it seems that Peter chose the localization project option. I'm not so sure though. Peter, do you have questions about all this? Hi Peter, Stumbled over by accident on the discuss@ list.. As a general advice: it's much easier for people to read and follow up on a mail if they don't need an external program to open it.. furthermore, quite some attachments are stripped from the lists, so it's more or less good luck if you got through with your attachment. Anyway, as the proper mailing list for localization topics is dev@l10n.openoffice.org instead, to subscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED], and I'm crossposting this reply to that list (reply-to also set to that list), I'll quote all you wrote in your attachment: > Dear All, > > I propose to start a native lang project, I think this is more about the localization of the OOo software, or am I wrong on this? > because I have noticed that the > community here in Curaçao are becoming more and more interested in developing > the language Papiamento and using it as the instructional language in > education. [l10n-dev] bug with hindi l10n package (on ubuntu + debian stock builds)
Hi, I am facing a strange issue.. when using Hindi l10n langpack for OOo 2.0.4 in Ubuntu (edgy) or Debian (etch).. these are stock builds that come in the repositorys. When I try typing Hindi in Writer, it only takes the first char typed.. and eats up the rest of chars until a whitespace char..., the first char in a word appears then next chars dont appear, neither does the cursor move..it happens with Hindi only , rest Indic langs ( Gujarati, Punjabi) i can type properly.. uninstalling the Hindi lang pack, makes it work normally. now I am going through all the files installed by the lang pack ( openoffice.org-l10n-hi-in package ), to figure out whats wrong but not having much clue.. maybe there is some error in some XML..but cant figure out. Anyone has clue as to which files to look into..?
