bq. But it sounds like you're getting more comfortable with the approach.

It has nothing to do with being comfortable with the approach. There was an
existing bug that was fixed that no one working on this issue seems to yet
comprehend. Which had me worried the problem still existed. I found that
another change from another JIRA has decoupled core loading and leader
election. All as I mention above. Details matter.

You only need one node because this issue is about loading cores on one node.
You also of course need more replicas than load threads to stimulate the old
issue.

The one issue with the test is I don't think it would fail nicely if the
problem was reintroduced as it was when I saw it? As I saw it, if the problem
was reintroduced the test would just take longer.

We should probably just make sure it doesn't take 180 seconds + (or whatever we
set the leaderVoteWait to in the test) to startup and elect a leader, and if it
does, fail with a nice message.

[~md...@cloudera.com] why do you want to test with
{{createCollection(collection, "conf1", 1,
NodeConfigBuilder.DEFAULT_CORE_LOAD_THREADS_IN_CLOUD * 3)}}. Why not keep it at
the default {{8}}

{{ // we only need 1 node because we're going to be shoving all of the replicas
on there to promote deadlock}}

How do you plan to get a deadlock if you are only going to have one node? The
deadlock happens because a node waits for other nodes to come up and those
nodes wait for this node (directly or through a circular dependency)

> On the "Plugins/Stats" page, there is a "Refresh Values" link.
> A user on the mailing list was having problems with this link going to the

> My testing on Windows 10 with 5.3.0 on the current UI showed Firefox working
> properly, but Chrome and Microsoft browsers have problems. Edge and Chrome
> return to the dashboard as the user noticed. IE11 throws up an error that
> says "404 Not Found get". When that popup is dismissed, the right pane of
> the window is empty except for a constant spinning icon saying "Loading ...".
> The Angular UI shows no problems in all four browsers. I did not test with
> any others.

I think it is related to this ticket. It is just another scenario in which
PeerSync would fail on restart "if you index documents while a node was down,
but did not issue a commit (or not autoCommit / autoSoftCommit was triggered).

Do you think there needs to be a different ticket for this scenario. If needed,
I will create a sperate ticket, update my patch for this ticket not to cover
that scenario and send a patch for this scenario on the new ticket

Hi [~erickerickson],
I just made some tests with solr 5.5.2 and the bug is also in that version.

> We just upgraded Solr version from 3.6 to 5.5.1 but the replication does not

> If I leave it running, after first optimize command happens it works as

[jira] [Comment Edited] (SOLR-9333) Add map parameter to streaming expression

This is a really interesting ticket because it gives Streaming Expressions data
structures. As [~caomanhdat] describes, I think it makes sense to have a *list*
and a *map* as the first two structures. I think both should be implemented as
TupleStreams so that they are interchangeable with other Streams. In this case
it might make sense to use the same syntax as other streams. For example
{code}
map(a="1", b="2", c="3")

list(map(), map(), search())
{code}

The *map* is basically a single Tuple. A *list* contains a list of streams.

Calling read() on a map would return a single Tuple.

Calling read() on a list is a little more complicated. Here is one possible
approach to this:

Calling read() on a list would take the first stream in the list and call
read() on it. Each call to read on the list will continue to read from the
first stream in the list. When the first stream in the list returns EOF the
next call to read() on the list will call read() on the second stream() in the
list. The list will keep track of the stream index and add an _index_ property
to each tuple.

The list can also support nested lists:

{code}
list(map(), map(), list(map(), map()))
{code}

The list will keep track of the current depth in the StreamContext and add the
_depth_ parameter to each tuple as well.

So the list would add two properties to each tuple which track the index in the
list and the nesting depth.

[jira] [Commented] (SOLR-8084) Original UI: Plugins/Stats "refresh values" link has problems in Chrome and Microsoft browsers

Can this be closed? Angular UI is now the new default.

> On the "Plugins/Stats" page, there is a "Refresh Values" link.
> A user on the mailing list was having problems with this link going to the
> dashboard.
I did not test with
> any others.

Is this still happening?

The managed schema part at least should be resolved as part of SOLR-6992, I
believe.

> In the new admin UI, clicking on the "files" link
> (cloud>>tree>>configs>>some_config_set) and then randomly clicking on files
> doesn't always show the text of the file. Sometimes it does, sometimes it is

> An awful lot of space is eaten up by the info on top like "aversion", "ctime"
> and the like, is this useful? Or could it be shrunk?
> Related: If I select the collection then under that the "files" link this all
> seems to work fine. But, I cannot see my managed schema. I want to in order
> to see the fieldTypes I have available, or more accurately the analysis

[jira] [Created] (SOLR-9333) Add map parameter to streaming expression

2016-07-23 Thread Cao Manh Dat (JIRA)
Cao Manh Dat created SOLR-9333:
--

 Summary: Add map parameter to streaming expression
 Key: SOLR-9333
 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-9333
 Project: Solr
  Issue Type: New Feature
  Security Level: Public (Default Security Level. Issues are Public)
Reporter: Cao Manh Dat
Assignee: Cao Manh Dat

Currently in streaming expression, if we wanna provide a list of named/unamed
parameters. We wrap the values inside a StreamExpressionValue and manually
separate value based on ',' character.

In order to make the streaming expression more compact and extendable, I
propose new kind of parameter to streaming expression.
{code}
Map Expression Parameter : { key1 = value1, key2 = value2,  }
{code}

So new tuple stream can be
{code}
arrays({term=a, score=1.0}, {term=b, score=2.0})
or
search(collection1, q=*:*, fl="id,a_s,a_i,a_f", sort="a_f asc, a_i asc",
aliases={a_i=alias.a_i, a_s=name})
{code}
