Anders !

There are 112 open issues on surefire, 74 of which are not on the
backlog. I will be releasing surefire every 2-4 weeks until these
numbers are dramatically better, ideally 0 bugs.

If they are just regular non-offensive typos that don't alter
semantics just make a new issue or reopen one of the fixed ones, 2.7.2
is not that far away.

Re-spinning kind of sounds like a quick operation; with surefire
it's close to two hours. At the moment that is competing with quite a
few other things - Hopefully there's still someone around to vote ;)

They are of the non-offensive sort, so I'll file a new jira and it can be
handled when ever.

I absolutely do appreciate the work of starting a vote. I'm sorry if any
wording made you think otherwise.

Re: [VOTE] Release Maven Surefire Plugin version 2.7.1

2010-12-23 Thread Kristian Rosenvold
I see now that I might have looked offended; no offense taken. I
talked about the number of bugs because I wanted to let all of you
know that I am planning to fix all the bugs in surefire. Anyone
wishing to asssist is welcome, and you are certainly assisting !

Another interesting feature of 2.7.X is that it's significantly
faster than any other previous version of surefire. Your mileage will
vary, but I've had reports of up to 10% performance boost in total
build time.

So it's smaller, lighter, faster.
