I also ran ShellCheck and fixed a bunch of minor things it was complaining about. I did run into a complication because the command to generate the sha512 has to use a {{>}} to redirect stdout, and that doesn't work so great with our {{run}} function. I worked around it by duplicating a few things, but if there's a cleaner way, let me know.
