We had most languages reviewed and fixed within 24 hours on the l10n
list. This is quite impressive. Having placeholders helped a lot. Still,
those where we still have unreviewed Google translations in a few days
should maybe be changed back to English, to avoid the "scam site" effect
(machine translation) and avoid the risk to confuse visitors about the
fact that this is the official download site.

Herbert,

Where is the build output located? I have NSS on my system, but the

that enable system-libs for all software?

Looking into main/nss/makefile.mk the logic on whether the builtin nss is built
is right there: If nss is disabled or if the system-provided nss is selected,
then the builtin nss will not be built. In that case there would be an info:
"NSS will not be built because..." I guess this was the case. Please search the
build output for this line.

The system provided nss is preferred over the builtin nss if you configured
with --with-system-nss or --with-system-libs. Please check whether any of these
configure options were active.

OK, that would be good.

In the interest of time, the "fixed" sites got only a mini-workover as
only the main download box portion was changed, eliminating the inline
javascript and replacing with the new js function call -- thus the
minimal amount of translated strings in the
msg_prop-I10n_xx.js files.

And, leaving the rest of the html sections of the pages -- social links,
extensions, additional resources, in tact.

So the modified download sites look quite a bit different from our main
English version download page.

I've fixed the "zh-cn" webpage but haven't translated the text. I don't
feel comfortable with writing Chinese characters when I don't understand
anything. So, better to see the green download box with English text

We have several native language areas which have their own download process
and were not affected by recent changes.

And, we have many other native language areas for which we now distribute
binaries but can only be redirected to the main English download page
because the download information that was maintained at these sites was no
longer valid. The following native language areas could use some help in
making the downloads for them more friendly to the native language users:
hi, km, ko, ru,sl, sr, sv, ta, th, vi. zh-tw.

I'll have a look on Thursday/Friday what is remaining and needs attention.

Done for Italian. Works nicely, thanks for developing it.

Just the sorting is not intuitive... Maybe sort by Name (with non-Latin
at the end) or by language code? I can't figure out if there is a sort
in place at the moment, it seems rather random to me. Or maybe it's
sorted by English name, but since we don't show the English name this
doesn't help the visitor.

Developers& translators are called to add 2 new variables to

selectedlang: en *

Done for German, works great.

Keep up the good work, what's next? ;-)

Fwd: [www] NEW language Selection Dropdown!

2014-06-25 Thread Tal Daniel
Published new language selection dropdown [again]. From now on, visitors
can quickly select their language, if available. This affects all NL sites.

Developers & translators are called to add 2 new variables to
{lang}/brand.mdtext, and change according to their language:

selectedlang: en *
language: Language **

(* change to your language code; ** translate title to your language)

For example, choose Hebrew from the dropdown, or see /he/brand.mdtext, or
/xx/brand.mdtext.

Note: "Native Languages" link from the menu would probably be removed in
the future, when the language dropdown would be more familiar and adopted.

Enjoy,
Tal

not clear to me who will fix it or if a fix will come in in time I more
careful to grant the showstopper flag. But if a fix becomes available we
