OO 4.1.1 update for Mac
The following message on en-Forum suggests that there may be a small oversight or update link not yet implemented [quote] I received announcement regarding Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1 is a micro update with many useful and critical bugfixes including 2 security relevant fixes... But when I open my OpenOffice and ask it to check for updates I get... OpenOffice 4.1.0 is up to date. OpenOffice on TV: Intruders
For those who are based in the US, OpenOffice will appear later this week (23 August) in a TV series called Intruders. It is not a TV program about OpenOffice: it's a TV series and OpenOffice will appear in scenes where people are using a computer. For details, see: http://markmail.org/message/ewf752ck67f7locn The message says this is OpenOffice's debut in TV, but it isn't, we already discussed this topic several months ago and OpenOffice is featured in several movies and series. Re: OpenOffice MWiki and CWiki: scheduled maintenance
Hi, On 21.08.2014 17:04, Andrea Pescetti wrote: The OpenOffice wiki (both CWiki and MWiki, actually) will be down for scheduled maintenance by the Apache Infrastructure team later today, starting in about 1 hour (16:00 UTC). The outage is expected to last about 1 hour and is due to RAM upgrades on the server hosting the wiki (from 262GB to 326GB). It is unfortunate that this happens on the OpenOffice release day (release notes are hosted on CWiki), but hopefully the downtime will be quite short, as it happened for last week's RAM upgrades on the Forum host. I hope that next time at least the PMC chairs are informed a couple of days in front of such events in order to allow the projects to plan their releases. Best regards, Oliver. Hello! If I open the August archive for openoffice-users mailing list I get no messages in threaded view. http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/openoffice-users/201408.mbox/browser But all looks O.K. in flat view. http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/openoffice-users/201408.mbox/thread Sorting by Date shows the messages. When I am trying to download Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1 in Dutch (Nederlands) I had some strange things on finding the correct downloads. I send four pictures made from my browser as documentation. When I selected Windows (EXE)and Dutch (Nederlands) there was only 4.1.0 as version option. On the link Download volledige installatie (Download complete installation) I would have downloaded: Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.1_Win_x86_install_zh-TW.exe and that is not the Dutch (Nederlands) version. See the first picture. It should end with _nl.exe. On the link Download taalpakket (Download languagepack) I have the same problem. You would have downloaded: Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.1_Win_x86_langpack_zh-TW.exe See the second picture. In the second mail you see the solution I foumd for the language. I had to split the mail in 2 mails because it was otherwise to big for you to recieve. With kind regards, Mr. L.J. Reporting a problem with the OpenOffice website (Mail 2 of 2)
This is the second mail. I have looked by the other languages and found the Dutch (Nederlands) verion under Finnish (Suomi). The downloads were now: Apache_OpenOffice_4_1_1_Win_x86_install_nl_exe and Apache_OpenOffice_4_1_1_Win_x86_langpack_nl_exe These are the Dutch (Nederlands) version which I have installed. See the first and second picture. I think this should be repaired for a better selectionmenu. With kind regards, Mr. L.J. Reporting a problem with the OpenOffice
Dear all Maybe I'm not on the right adress. But I'm shure that you will forwart it internly to the right position... I downloaded OpenOffice 4.1.1 because I had some trables with big files. But it's still the some. In my Office we have to scan some dokumends (A4 ) in a Write-Doc and convert it until in a PDF. In the past it was working very well. But now, after I scaned in the 14th page, it looks that the document is to big and the software could not handel it anymore. Interessting is, that I can do it with LibreOffice with out any problems. With LibreOffice I could finished it until 28 pages ( about 22,6MB ), without any crashes. After convert to PDF I tryed to open it first with OpenOffice. The software was hanging a long time until I bracked it down. LibreOffice could open it in some seconds. ( Adobe was the fastest .-)) ) I hope this message helps you to optimise your very good producte OpenOffice. Best regards A. Re: Reporting a problem with the OpenOffice
This is better to report on Bugzilla as you can attach the document at hand. At the moment we were able to open documents higher than 130mb. Mostly full of images. It took around 50 seconds.
