English Dictionaries updated - 1-APR-2015

2015-03-30 Thread Marco A.G.Pinto

Hello!

Just to inform everyone that I have updated the dictionaries for
OpenOffice and Mozilla.

Only the British one has been changed and it now has 738 new words since
the previous version.

In this version I focused a lot in the names of places and persons,
since it is one of the biggest weaknesses in the dictionaries.

The AOO may take a few days to trigger, but you can download it manually
from its official site.

Direct sites where it can be found:
- AOO
http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/english-dictionaries-apache-openoffice

- Mozilla (Firefox/Thunderbird/SeaMonkey)
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/british-english-dictionary-2

- Official project site (Proofing Tool GUI)
http://marcoagpinto.cidadevirtual.pt/proofingtoolgui.html

- Official project site (GitHub)
https://github.com/marcoagpinto/aoo-mozilla-en-dict

Please notice that I added a paragraph with some extra text at the
bottom of GitHub to explain to people how to check if a word is already
there. Could someone tell me if the text is okay or if should add/remove
something?

Thanks!

Kind regards from your friend,
 Marco A.G.Pinto

 Subject: ruby uno to control openoffice

 Hi,All
 There is a runo on github developed by hanya.
  Ruby-UNO (Ruby-OpenOffice) native bridge.

 http://wiki.github.com/hanya/RUNO/

 I spend days to build the runo on window 7

 with ActiveScriptRuby2.2, openoffice 3.4 and vs2010.

 i got this error which i dont understand why .

 E:\RUNO-master\include\com/sun/star/beans/PropertyAttribute.hdl(20) : error
 C2513: 'const short' : no variable declared before '='

 but in PropertyAttribute.hdl the line 20 is as the same style as other
 line

 static const ::sal_Int16 MAYBEVOID = (sal_Int16)1;
 static const ::sal_Int16 BOUND = (sal_Int16)2;
 static const ::sal_Int16 CONSTRAINED = (sal_Int16)4;
 static const ::sal_Int16 TRANSIENT = (sal_Int16)8;
 static const ::sal_Int16 READONLY = (sal_Int16)16;
 static const ::sal_Int16 MAYBEAMBIGUOUS = (sal_Int16)32;
 static const ::sal_Int16 MAYBEDEFAULT = (sal_Int16)64;
 static const ::sal_Int16 REMOVEABLE = (sal_Int16)128;
 static const ::sal_Int16 REMOVABLE = (sal_Int16)128;
 static const ::sal_Int16 OPTIONAL = (sal_Int16)256;//line 20 error1

 I commented line 20 ,build is OK.Then i try to open a docment.But error
 comes.

 require 'uno'
 data = {'type' = 'socket', 'host' = 'localhost',
 'port' = 2083, 'protocol' = 'urp'}
 ctx = Uno::Connector.connect(data)
 smgr = ctx.getServiceManager
 desktop = smgr.createInstanceWithContext(
com.sun.star.frame.Desktop,ctx)//here error2 comes out
 doc = desktop.loadComponentFromURL(private:factory/swriter, _blank, 0,
 [])
 doc.getText.setString(Hello Ruby!)

 I really want to make it work.Buy it seems kind of hard for me now.

 Did error1 yield error2 or something else wrong.

 Any help would be appreciated.

Board report proposal, please comment before April 5.

2015-03-30 Thread jan i
Hi all

Time for my first AOO Board report.

I have prepared the board report see
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OOOUSERS/2015+Mar

You might notice that I prefer to use a much more direct tone, than Andrea
did. That is NOT to say that Andrea did something wrong. You might also
notice the layout is different, it is to make it fit the new reporter tool,
which I wrote about earlier.

I believe we are approaching a situation where we need board involvement,
and therefore I prefer to show board to facts, so they are more prepared
when/if we decide to ask for more.

Please also be aware that the fact that we in reality have done nothing
with Digital Signing and the MAC boxes, are things that partly will fall
back on Infra (they spent quite a USD amount on us last year for these
items) and therefore influence future requests from us.

My intention is to commit the board report to the agenda April 5 (end of
this week). Clearly if we have discussions that needs to be settled before
committing the final report.

The report is in Wiki, so all with access can change it, please change
typos etc directly, but let us discuss changes in the tone/meaning.

suggestions:

I suggest we remove:
Project planning, page states *Warning: this page refers to the Incubation

Actually a lot of the top level pages have not been touched since 2011. I

sounds reasonable. Spring is coming, so let's do a little
spring-cleaning. There is already a page archive.

BTW:
When working on this please move the entry archive to the end of the

I would be in favor of removing the warning statement from the CWIKI
Project Planning page, but nothing else until we take a longer look.
Some of the information under this can be archived but this would make
the information more difficult to find if we needed it.
