Hello,
We saw there was a problem with buildbot about the consultants listing for

Is there anything we can do? Should we reapply/resend?

Reading the logs, it seems this has nothing to do with your specific
updated, but rather with two filenames that use non-ASCII characters.

I've fixed the two reported ones (well this is not necessarily a bug
in the file names; they always worked so far, so this may be an issue
with the new buildbot setup) to check:

 http://svn.apache.org/r1692695

 http://svn.apache.org/r1692696

Let's see if this gets rid of warnings. The affected files were unused
(even if I took care of renaming where helpful) and had names like
(hoping they get rendered correctly in mail clients): excepții.css
 with a special t and ProjectMembersh…equestHelp.html with a literal ...
character, of course due to some mistake.

 Regards,
   Andrea.

Thanks for looking deeper into this, Andrea. The most recent buildbot log
indicates we still have issues. So, it does look like a new issue with the
buildbot setup at this point.

Please review unmatched closing tag in exported XHTML

2015-07-30 Thread Sergio Zambrano
The tag has no use for xml (DIV) and the comment before says it should be the
end of the block before, yet an individual self-closing div comes, and breaks
HTML browsers (divs need to be balanced, and it makes pages to appear nested
the previous page).

 COMMENT

 Jan,

I am certain that you gave deep consideration to your decision to resign.
I trust that you have other pursuits that are more satisfying and that you
can now provide full devotion to. I wish you good fortune in all endeavors
that you commit your considerable energies to.

For me, your continued participation on the PMC, at whatever level you
 choose, will be welcome.

 PROPOSAL

 Two things,

  1. If there is only one nominee at the end of discussion, I suggest that
a (5-day or 7-day) lazy consensus period, not a [VOTE], be conducted for
that candidate. This allows discussion on the specific candidate,
including response to any objections, and the achievement of consensus
without the awful situation that Louis Suarez-Potts endured in the previous
 determination of a Chair recommendation.

  2. I think candidates should be current PMC members (although that could
simply be a matter of stated qualifications in the process we are starting
now). I base that on neither of the previous candidates being current PMC
members. I found, for myself, on joining the PMC after the previous
election, that I was definitely missing background and understanding of the
status of the PMC and issues it was being faced with. I also missed seeing
the way the outgoing Chair (i.e., Andrea Pescetti) provided examples as a
PMC Chair. For those who consider this role, please consult and embrace
the definition of PMC Chair responsibilities at
 https://www.apache.org/dev/pmc.html#chair.

Welcome back!

We've been having some issues with buildbots lately, but the development
builds we have can be obtained from:

We are working on a 4.1.2 release right now so everything you find in 4.2.0

English Dictionaries - Issue with Extension site

2015-07-30 Thread Marco A.G.Pinto

Hello!

I was doing the monthly update and after uploading the OXT and
filling-up the fields, I attempted to download it in order to check if
it was working.

It opened the usual SourceForge page but I got a warning on Firefox that
the file wasn't found.

So, I tried to reupload it and republish it and then unpublish the first
one.

I got a warning:
This extension is currently not published, please contact the system
administrator at aooad...@users.sourceforge.net to have it published.

Now I can only access the extension page when I am logged in, otherwise
I get an Access Denied:

http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/english-dictionaries-apache-openoffice

I have already e-mailed the SourceForge guy but I was wondering if
someone with administrator rights could make it work?

Thanks!

Kind regards,
 Marco A.G.Pinto

thanks for coming back to this.

Yes, it was already added to the SVN repository where the website is
managed. But there is a little problem to get this also to the
production webserver.

There is nothing more you need to do. IMHO we need some more patience to
get the problem fixed - especially now in the summer and therefore
vacation time.

@Andrea:
Do you have a response from the Infra team - or a JIRA issue?

Thanks

[DISCUSS] Would you like to be the new chair of AOO ?

2015-07-30 Thread jan i
Hi.

I will resign at the board meeting in September, so the current schedule
looks like:
Accept/Nominate/Discuss candidates until August 16th
Discussion ends August 23th
Voting ends September 4th
Resolution send to board September 5th.
New chair takes over immediately after the board meeting.

The reason for my resignation is an ongoing disagreement between part of
the PMC
and myself. I expected the PMC to be willing to make changes when I was
elected,
but at least my way seems to be counterproductive. The 2 main discrepancies
are:
- the board reports which, even though discussed publicly, have been the
cause of
negative discussions after being sent to board
- the attempt to make a cooperation with LO, caused many discussions, but
ended
with adding restrictions, that made it impossible for me to continue the
attempt.
I do not want to go deeper into details, since it does not help finding a
new chair.

As a volunteer I want to work, where the work makes a positive difference,
and not cause
endless negative discussions. I hope a new chair can help unite the PMC and
help drive
the project forward.

The PMC was informed about this July 24th, and after some discussions,
the time has come to find new candidates.

Please use this mail thread to announce yourself as a candidate, or to
nominate
someone else (remark that person must state whether or not the nomination is
accepted). There are no formal limits to being a nominee, apart from
committer
status.

The rules for the vote, will depend on the number of candidates but is
basically
a majority vote, with PMC votes being binding.
