Inspection of this shows one letter omitted in the Russian translation
"Назания полей" should be "Наз>>в<<ания полей" (>><< characters to highlight
hhe omitted letter)

Introducing my self and my goals.

2015-11-05 Thread Ηρακλής Μουτίδης
Hello everyone my name is Iraklis Moutidis and I am a MSc student at

with Development 3- 4 hours a week for this time. I am also interested to
continue participating to the project after the end of my class.

That's great, welcome to Apache OpenOffice :-).

Do you have any idea of what you want to contribute, or would you like some
easy development suggestions to get started?

Feel free to email this mailing list with any development issues or
questions, and if you'd like someone to mentor you, I am available.

Thank you

yes, you can install OpenOffice on Windows and Mac computers. And also
on Linux if there will be any need.

Please see here [1] for more details about the system requirements. Then
you can download the program from here [2].

When you make sure to save the documents in the native OpenDocument
Format (the file extensions are .odt, .ods, .odp, etc.), then you will
have no problems when you exchange the files between both computers.

Open Document Editors Devroom at FOSDEM 16, Brussels, 30 Jan 2016

2015-11-05 Thread Andrea Pescetti

FOSDEM 16 will be held at the ULB Campus Solbosch, Brussels (Belgium)
on Saturday, January 30, and Sunday, January 31, 2016.

Open document editors are coming again to FOSDEM with a shared devroom
which gives every project in this area a chance to present ODF related
developments and innovations. The devroom is jointly organized by Apache
OpenOffice and LibreOffice.

We invite submission of talks for the Open Document Editors devroom, to
be held on Saturday, January 30, from 10:30AM to 6:30PM.

Length of talks should be limited to 20 minutes, as we would like to
have questions after each presentation, and to fit as many presenters as
possible in the schedule. Exceptions must be explicitly requested and
justified.

Technical talks (code, extensions, localization, QA, tools and adoption
related cases) about open document editors or the ODF document format
are welcome.

Submissions must be done by the speakers using the Pentabarf system:
https://penta.fosdem.org/submission/FOSDEM16/

While filing your proposal, please provide the title of your talk, a
short abstract (one or two paragraphs), some information about yourself
(name, bio and photo, but please do remember that your profile might be
already stored at Pentabarf) and specify what topic (Apache OpenOffice,
LibreOffice, other ODF editors, ODF in general...) your talk is about.

You do not need to create a new account if you already have one. If the
password has been lost, you can easily recover it.

Presenting at FOSDEM implies giving permission to be recorded. The
recordings will be published under the CC-BY license.

The deadline is Monday, December 7, 2015. Accepted speakers will be
notified by December 15, 2015.

You can send any questions to the devroom mailing list:

Re: Open Document Editors Devroom at FOSDEM 16, Brussels, 30 Jan 2016

2015-11-05 Thread Andrea Pescetti
I realize that I had not announced here that the devroom (track) we
proposed for FOSDEM 16 was approved. It happened while we were busy with
the 4.1.2 release, so I forgot to forward the good news. In short, there
will be an Open Document Editors devroom, where presentations about
OpenOffice will be welcome. Deadline for submissions: 7 December. The
announcement will probably be reposted to the OpenOffice blog.

Regards,
  Andrea.

no...the feeds are not committed but are attached with new names to

Ok, more update feeds to see attached to:
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=126612

using the script which is AWESOME! Please not the script uses
today's date, Nov.5, and not our release date of Oct. 28. This is
just a comment, so if we want to change all these to Oct.28, we can
do this.

I fixed up the localized download areas which is an input file to
the script, so hopefully we're good on that now.

So, once we get a FINAL (hopefully!) review, I will copy these over
to where they need to go an commit. The 4.1.1 -> 4.1.2 we have
already committed is OK.

Hi Iraklis

Alright I'll prepare some easy things to get you started.

In the meanwhile you should probably start by checking out the source code
from SVN and getting it to compile:
http://openoffice.apache.org/source.html
https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/Building_Guide_AOO

and do some reading on our website/wiki while it's compiling:
http://openoffice.apache.org/orientation/intro-development.html.
https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/DevGuide
https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Hacking
https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Source_code_directories
https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Architecture/Process_Flow

What platform are you on?
