help me open my files please

Hello, I don't know what has happened but I cant open my ODT files.I am so 
worried as I have all my work in there and I can't print or  access them in any 
way.Why has this happened? I have very important work in them that I need to 
send and its imperative that I can get into them ASAP.Please help.Thanks Kate
