@Andrea, thanks for putting them to a shared location.

@Andrea and @Skedaddle, glad to hear of the translations.

About the wallpaper files, it looks like I sent one of the early
iterations of the Jack-o-lantern piece. I figure instead of sending along
the final here, instead I will check G+ for a time Halloween is trending
and share it at the AOO community page.

Also, if anyone should want to do a different voice over to any of those,
I could upload the video master file. Those files run from 80 to 140 Megs
each, Or I could just do it here.

I hope the videos can be of some use. If I can do anything else, just let
me know.

Best wishes,

Drew

Hi Kay,

Yes, that was the idea exactly, and with that in mind, I figured it would
be worth varying the opening graphics a bit - so I did (am).

Will license these as CC 3.0 BY-SA , without the NC rider, given that I
have no music track, so folks could, as far as I'm concerned use these
any way they see fit.

Actually, it might be worth running the common license screen by the list
before the final renders - will put that together now and post back to this
thread with a link. Then finish up the sequencing, bit hold on the final
render till tomorrow for any feedback on that license/credits graphic.

Thanks

Thanks

I think I might need a memory refresher on this. Was the idea to provide a
variety of short videos, and one would be randomly selected for
presentation to the user? Is this why five are being created?

All the texts seem fine to me if that's the case.

Thanks for your work on this.

Re: AOO4 General videos

2014-10-04 Thread Drew Jensen
Howdy Folks,

Alright, it is Saturday and I'm back to these videos.

Have finalized the text for each and will include this here.

I want to offer to the community the chance to translate any of these. If
anyone would want to that that I would need two things from you, a copy of
the text translation and a copy of you reading the text. Pretty much any
file format will work for that audio file. Diction and a inflection IMO are
more important. Just translate, grab your mic and email me the results -
timing wise, do not sweat it too much, I've included the length of the
audio track for each of the scripts below and if you get within a few
seconds of that it is not a problem at all.

Now back to the video editor.

I Expect to send these videos along, along with the text as appropriate
sub-titling file, as a single zip file on Monday morning.

Otherwise, I hope this email finds everyone doing well.

Best wishes

1 Title - Market Leader; Length - 30 seconds

Apache OpenOffice is the leading open-source office software suite for word
processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more.

It is available in many languages and works on all common computers.

It stores all your data in an international open standard format and can
also read and write files from other common office software packages.

It can be downloaded and used completely free of charge for any purpose.

Apache OpenOffice; Great software!

---
2 Title - Professional Quality; Length 30 seconds
---
Apache OpenOffice is the result of over twenty years' software engineering.

Designed from the start as a single piece of software, it has a consistency
other products cannot match.

A completely open development process means that anyone can report bugs,
request new features, or enhance the software.

The result: Apache OpenOffice does everything you want your office software
to do
- the way YOU, want it to.

---
3 Title - Ease of Use; Length 28 seconds
---
Apache OpenOffice is easy to learn, and if you're already using another
office software package, you'll take to OpenOffice straight away.

Our world-wide native-language community means that OpenOffice is probably
available and supported in your own language.

If you already have files from another office package
- Apache OpenOffice will probably read them with no difficulty.

---
4 Title - It's Free; Length 30 seconds
---
Apache OpenOffice can be downloaded and used entirely free of any licence
fees.

Apache OpenOffice is released under the Apache 2.0 Licence.

This means you may use it for any purpose - domestic, commercial,
educational, public administration.

You may install it on as many computers as you like.

You may make copies and give them away to family, friends, students,
employees
- anyone you like.

---
4 Title - No Hassels; Length 56 seconds
---
Apache OpenOffice is the no-hassle answer

For small businesses IT is a hassle, and an expense.

Apache OpenOffice is simply the easiest and cheapest way of providing the
essential software tools required to support a growing business.

OpenOffice is a mature, stable product, guaranteeing trouble-free usage.

Behind the scenes, it stores all your valuable data in a format approved by
the International Organization for Standardization
- the first software package in the world to meet this exacting standard.

As more companies adopt the standard, exchanging data between office
software, accounting software, planning software - any software - will
become as easy as saving and opening a file.

No transcription errors, no re-typing the same information twice - no
hassle computing.

AOO4 General videos

2014-10-02 Thread Drew Jensen
JUST A PREVIEW -

So from the other day I thought to just take the firrst page from the 'Why
AOO' web page as a script.

Doing that I can get one paragraph into an appx 30 seconds.

I have Five different , original, graphic combinations. I figured Five vids.

The web page gives Four paragraphs of text.

Any suggestions on a Fifth.

I plan to use the same opening graphic for each - Take a second look at AOO
4 - might be a good title for that, and I think also a good start to the
Fifth text copy.

I can finish what a I have, as Four vids, in a full day I think.

Will hold off on this till Saturday after work, to give a day for your
feedback here.

Thanks
