Re: Bugzilla and help users
I have contacted him. (21.08.2014) No effect. :-( Only the question where he can find a helpdesk for AOO. I directed him do the users forum (22.08.2014). Seeing that he have test cases in the background of his screenshots I sent an email (22.08.2014) to Yuzhen Fan, because he is assigning test cases. No answer. Who can stop him? He raised some legitimate issue, most of them based on earlier decisions. They not solved them because had no developer time or resource, some times not worth the effort, or changes in Base form wrongly affects Writer, etc. I looked around the issues, most of them legitimate behaviour, but nobody use it in that difficult way as he describe. Most of the users not hurting these issues, or they can live with these bugs, and see them as feature. Re: Bugzilla and help users
Bugzilla admin could have some antispam-blacklist plugin. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=261326 Not sure if it has been implemented or if we have that version. Re: Bugzilla and help users
Hello! Since a couple of days, we have plenty of reports from end-users. Some people sent so many issues as by example: http://tinyurl.com/ker7vkj For me, it must be posted on support forum or dedicated mailing list users@ Maybe a phrase to warn end-users will be better? I want to close this mass mailings with the following text: -- This is the issue reporting system for Apache OpenOffice. For help in using AOO please ask at a user forum or a user mailing list in your preferred language. https://forum.openoffice.org/ If other users can confirm that you find a problem located in the application, every reproducible bug report is welcome. https://www.openoffice.org/qa/issue_handling/basic_rules.html -- Can anyone correct my english? Maybe some changes/additions? Re: Bugzilla and help users
I dont think this is a good idea, I read a few reports and I find them legitimately. Meaning some of those are well documented and agree that they should be actually solved and fixed. In the past there were complains about Bzilla not being used, and now about being overused. I agree that if they are 'how do I do this...' is something for support but crash reports seems to be a bit more technical and legitimately a bug. In the first case, I suggest to solved it, close it and send instructions to the mailing list for further asistance. On 8/21/14, Mathias Röllig mroellig.n...@gmx.net wrote: Hello! Re: Bugzilla and help users
After going through those bugs seems this is a specific user qualke...@outlook.com seems he is doing intense QA job to build the report however it seems he is either not entirely proficient with the Base program or his installation has some serious issues. AFAIK I couldnt replicate any of his claims, I would add duplicate to many of these bugs. Seems this is an isolated issue as opposed to a complete deisgn flaw on our documentation. Maybe would be better to contact him directly to his email as opposed to go issue by issue posting the same message.
