You need to install a 32 bit Java. One such is at
http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=81819

The 32 bit Javas have i586 in their name. After installing this, you should run 
/Tools/Options/OpenOffice :Java and checkmark the line for that version.

USING OpenOffice Database

 I am attempting to set up a form using OpenOffice Base yet I keep getting a 
message to install JRE (Java Run Environment) and I have yet it is not 
accepting it. The download completes and I click finish yet when attempting to 
access the database again the same message keep popping up. What should I do? I 
am using Windows 7 Home Edition.
