[dev] First Open Source Project
Hello - I've always wanted to be a contributor to an open source project. I'm a computer science graduate from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ, USA and currently work for a branch of the US government doing data mining while also being a part-time graduate student at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. I have Python, C/C++ and Java in my programming-language repertoire, as well as experience with numerous other languages including Prolog and Lisp. I have extensive experience with web programming with PHP and MySQL as well as Javascript on the front-end of things. I want to contribute as much as possible because I believe OpenOffice.org is what the world needs: a free, open-source office suite. I have used it since version 1.0 and I would love to see it get as strong a market share as Microsoft Office currently has on the world. Thank you very much! -- Matt Fehskens, aka gonzoFish

I would however appreciate a discussion on my proposal on the eligibility of Category leads and more NLC representatives (in the Talk section of the charter proposal). Product Development Representative? Can you confirm something about it? sorry, I obviously neet to prepare an entry page so that we can easily find all information. As said - all project memebers (including category leads) are eligible. The difference is in the electorate or constituency. Category leads are mentioned for the electorates: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Community_Council/Items/Election_Process_Proposal#Council_Constituencies Ah, I had never seen that page. So do you (and others ) confirm that according to this council draft that the Category leads of the Incubator project can be elected as a product development representative and the Category leads of the NLC as a NL representative? . Then we have a basis for discussion. I am not exactly satisfied with the numbers of NLC represenatives as I wrote earlier, but I'll start the conversation on this on [EMAIL PROTECTED] Well, I don't really agree with that but if in general the NLC does not see anything wrong with this I won't object... Do you think we could perhaps discuss this on [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yes, please. But please try to focus on this special topic. It is very hard to follow the discussion on 4 or more lists. Sure. I'll keep it on focus. best, Charles. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [dev] help with userpaths for OO 2.4.1
Hi, so, for my version of OO, can i add a unique path (i want to have non-standard templates located in a folder outside of the standard tmepaltes) to add a templates path's you can add a Paths.xcu file to .\user\registry\data\org\openoffice\Office for example: ?xml version=1.0 encoding=UTF-8? oor:component-data xmlns:oor=http://openoffice.org/2001/registry; xmlns:xs=http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema; oor:name=Paths oor:package=org.openoffice.Office node oor:name=Paths node oor:name=Template prop oor:name=UserPaths value$(inst)/share/template/$(vlang) file:///E:/Share/Templates/value /prop prop oor:name=WritePath valuefile:///E:/User/User_Templates/value /prop /node /node /oor:component-data BTW: it's possible you have to add the following node to the Commons.xcu too to make it work: node oor:name=Path node oor:name=Current prop oor:name=Template oor:type=oor:string-list value xsi:nil=true/ /prop /node /node Oliver -- GnuPG key 0xCFD04A45: 8822 057F 4956 46D3 352C 1A06 4E2C AB40 CFD0 4A45 signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

The NLC Category lead might even be elected as CCR or Code Contributor Representative. Any project member can candidate for any (but the Sun) seat. Obviously it would be better to candidate for a seat, if the electorate knows you and can confirm that you will be able to act in the name of this specific group.
