I think I heard that the update system had some changes and bugs. I
guess you will need to manually update to the next version, which is
not that difficult. Please tell us which version are you currently
using.

At the moment the latest version is 3.2.0 and in a few weeks a 3.2.1
will be avialable.

[dev] Errors with updates

2010-05-07 Thread Stanislav Vysopal
Hello,

I'm using Open Office box suite for longer time and I'm very satisfied with
software. I just would need a quick help from developers. The issue is, a
few days already, I'm trying to update my software and before it was
announcing "No updates available", but now it's still announcing "Check for
updates failed". Do you think, you can help me with this issue. I'd really
appreciate that.

Thank you and have a great day

I think the best list to have this is us...@openoffice.org

However let me recommend one of the most prolific trainers that I
know, and she is also an author at http://www.openoffice.blogs.com/

It's a UNO interface, with the implementation in C++, in file
sc/source/ui/unoobj/docuno.cxx, method ScModelObj::seekGoal.

Since when is that supported? Is there any reason to keep that ugly old

I would assume it has "always" been supported; but should at least work
since DEV300_m77, where
 made
some changes in that area (and things like "cd .../instsetoo_native/util
&& dmake openoffice_en-US.archive" should work reliably now as well).

Not sure why exactly FORCE2ARCHIVE was invented in the first place
(instead of using PKGFORMAT), vaguely remember having talked about this
with Ause, but remember no details. Maybe Ause knows more.

You're right: it won't be a marketable feature by any means. But if it

think it could be worth doing. The same goes for cleaning up the high
contrast icon duplication. I'm happy to invest the time to do what I
can - I would value the opportunity to further explore and possibly
contribute to OOo. Jan has offered to help me, so I will have a better
understanding of what's involved soon.

I will try to find out why ther HiContrast themes are as you found them.

Thanks for your thoughts and your interest in contributing,

I use it for the OOo lists and only rarely read other mails sent to it.

If you are not required to build with ooobuild you might try a plain
vanilla build. Getting started is described in the Building Guide:

http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/Building_Guide

which is up-to-date and complete, so it should not leave you alone with
problems.
In addition to the option to use:

 cd .../instsetoo_native/util && PKGFORMAT=archive dmake

You can use:

 cd .../instsetoo_native/util && PKGFORMAT=installed dmake

which will create a runnable installation in the output tree of
instsetoo_native. Just make sure that you have not set
the LOCALINSTALLDIR variable, as it will make things brake in
interesting and confusing ways.

Best Regards,

Bjoern Michaelsen

There are a couple of options. Either, you can use the
solver/.../bin/userscripts/install script to make a fake installation of
the OOo RPMs to an arbitrary location you specify. Or, you can use

  cd .../instsetoo_native/util && PKGFORMAT=archive dmake

to build a .tar.gz OOo installation set in
instsetoo_native/unxlngi6.pro/OpenOffice/archive/install/en-US
(alternatively, you can also use PKGFORMAT=installed to similarly build
an already unpacked one).
