Re: [dev] question about writer2latex
Hi, Writer2latex is also responsible to the xhtml export from OOo writer. Writer2latex has fixed many bugs, e.g, current xhtml export doesn't generate footnotes and endnotes, and Writer2later 0.5 when doing xhtml export handles footnotes and endnotes correclty. I have installed Writer2latex 0.5 as an export plugin in OOo 2.3 and it satisfies all my needs, but I am certain there should be give na high priority in updating the default version. Best, Zvi. [dev] Meet me: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hi, I am new to this list. As you see from my signature, I am a mathematician by education, but also a computer hacker with 25 years experience. As an advocate of open source software, I have been using OOo from day one, and have a lot of experience with it. Now that I have started to be involved in open access journal publishing, I am using OOo as the main publishing tool. I have met several problems in the OOo Writer export filters, and entered a bug report in the the issue data base, at <http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=83346>. I have proceeded in pursuing this issue, and got the feeling I am talking to myself! I also made a suggestion how to fix the defect, but the issue is still in the unconfirmed status. My experience with other open source development communities, like Mozilla (Firefox, Thunderbird, Calendar project), was quite different. Is there anything I can do to improve the situation? Perhaps discussing the issues in this forum may help? I tried to subscribe to the users mailing list but noticed it is certainly wrong for discussing defects. Best, Zvi.
