Well, for starters just try to build the product: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Development/OpenOffice.org_Building_Guide Feel free to report any problems you ran into when trying to compile OOo. I would recommend to use Linux as development platform if you are free to choose. When you are done with a build, you might help us by fixing a bug of your choice ;-).
