[OSM-dev-fr] Osmosis et enforcement=maxspeed
Bonsoir à tous, J'avais parlé, il y a un petit moment, sur la liste talk-fr d'un projet d'application iPhone qui indiquerait la vitesse limite sur la portion de route sur laquelle l'utilisateur se trouve. Pour arriver à mes fins, on m'avait conseillé d'utiliser Osmosis pour extraire les données qui m'intéressent. La page du wiki expliquant son utilisation m'ayant effrayé à l'époque, j'ai un peu délaissé le sujet... Mais me re-voilà, dans un nouvel élan de motivation, et avec un peu plus d'expérience dans le développement iPhone. Je me suis donc installé une machine virtuelle sous ubuntu server (histoire de pas toucher à ma configuration sur ma session mac et risquer de commettre une erreur irréparable...) et j'ai installé Osmosis, téléchargé un extract de la région PACA et essayé de ne garder que les informations sur les relations contenant le tag enforcement=maxspeed. Mais je ne suis pas certain que ma commande soit bonne... Voilà celle que j'ai utilisé : osmosis --read-xml file=provence-alpes-coted-azur.osm --tag-filter accept-relations enforcement=maxspeed --write-xml file=provence-alpes-cote-d-azur.enforcement_maxspeed.osm Qu'en pensez-vous ? Ce que je souhaiterai ensuite faire c'est de retenir la vitesse limite autorisée sur ces portions et les afficher lorsque l'on se trouve dessus. Le problème ici n'est pas l'hébergeur mais d'avoir monter du RAID0 qui n'a aucune redondance. Pour l'instant, on retrouve la page d’accueil mais je ne peux pas me loguer et accéder à mon dernier blog. J'espère qu'il n'est pas perdu. [OSM-dev] A few coastline related questions
Hiya, I'm trying to extract coastline data from OSM... specifically, I want shapefiles exactly like the ones that are available (processed_p and shoreline_300), but * in wgs84 (no projection to mercator) * without splitting up of polys into tiles I'm not using the data with Mapnik or to draw it onto tiles -- instead I'm converting the shapefiles into a mesh (http://i.imgur.com/vuYmc.png). So I have a few related questions... Are there any tools I can use to merge the tiles into more reasonable polys? Something along the lines of the data available from NaturalEarthData? If not, I see there are a couple of tools to extract the data directly: coastlinecheck (http://svn.openstreetmap.org/applications/utils/coastcheck/), and osmcoastline (https://github.com/joto/osmcoastline/). Both of these process planet.osm.pbf, which sometimes needs a 64bit machine with a certain amount of ram etc, depending on what exactly the tool is doing. I have an older computer with 2gb of ram... The polygon that Ramunas mentioned, with two touching inner rings, should indeed be processed fine by osm2pgsql; we've long said that this particular violation of OCG simple features is ok for us and I thought that osm2pgsql handled that well. Therefore when Ramunas wrote that he had to patch osm2pgsql to handle this, I assumed it must have been some other problem. My current working assumption is that touching inner rings are ok and this is our one and only deviation from OGC simple features (and I thought osm2pgsql would already dissolve the two touching inners into one hole for the polygon). Inner rings touching the outer ring, or intersections between any inner/outer rings, are not ok though. From user point this relation is correct but from geos point - not. The problem is that this polygon(and many others) was skipped without any warnings. You cannot fix it if you dont know where error is. I definitely think we do. If osm2pgsql does import and render invalid polygons they will never get fixes in the database. The Problem with multipolygons in their current form ist that there is no definition of a correct multipolygon AFAIK. I know Jochen's tool and coastcheck do some repairing as well, and they may be better suited (I'm not entirely sure what they do under the hood), but there's this tool that I found pretty handy available here: https://github.com/tudelft-gist/prepair. It uses constrained triangulation to fix polygons so that they conform to the common simple feature standard -- the paper can be found here: http://www.gdmc.nl/ledoux/pdfs/_12agile.pdf.
