 Osmosis says:
 INFO: Osmosis Version 0.42-6-gf39a160-dirty
also if you took the link from the Wiki [1]

Thanks for the info. I've checked and I have a bug in the gradle script
where it isn't updating the OsmosisConstants class when the git version
number changes. I'm fairly sure that the release is otherwise correct, the
version number just hasn't been updated correctly.

I'll fix it before I make any more releases. I probably should do another
release (eg. a 0.43.1) to fix this but I'm not sure when I'll get time.

Re: [OSM-dev] osm2pgsql: support for local route names

As I am not familiar with github, I would need some hints how to proceed.

The usual approach would be fo fork the osm2pgsql repo, create a
feature-branch, check out that branch, change your code inside, test,
commit and push the new branch to your fork of the repo.

Then you can issue a pull-request from your branch to the main-master.

It may sound a little scary when written down, but it is a relativly
straightforward process, once you know the steps involved.

As it works fine and the risk of regression or side effects seems very low
to me, I propose to include this feature into the repository. Do the
 maintainers of osm2pgsql agree?

Wouldnt it make more sense to copy all tags probably prefixing route_ to be
compatible to the existing code?

[OSM-dev] Google Summer of Code student question

2013-04-12 Thread Pavel Melnikov
Hello everyone.
I'd like to apply for this year's Summer of Code to code something
interesting and useful for OpenStreetMap, and as I enjoy mobile developing,
I'd like something mobile) I have some questions about the procedure though.

First is, since OSM projects will be hosted under OSGeo mentoring
organization this year, will it mean that there would be less OSM projects?
I mean, there probably is some quota for projects per organization - and
OSGeo certainly has projects of their own.

And secondly, what is the community acceptance status of ideas on our GSoC'13
wikihttp://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Google_Summer_of_Code/2013/Project_Ideas
page?
Are they proposed by a single person (possibly a to-be mentor) and need
more discussion and refining here once application period starts?

Best wishes,
  Pavel

We'll get a portion of the slots that OSGeo gets. We have an agreement with
OSGeo about how many slots OSM gets but I'd rather not say how many in
order to encourage as many ideas as possible.

Yes, the ideas presented there are usually proposed by a single person that
may or may not be a possible mentor. The students should use those ideas as
a base for their idea proposals.
