Yes AFAIK the latest Tomahawk will work with the RI.  I've been out of
the loop on the mailing lists for a few weeks so I could be wrong on
that though.

Sorry for my ignorance, but it seems like I've seen messages from
people who are using the RI with MyFaces extensions like Tomahawk,
etc.  Have you tried that at all or have you maybe researched it more
than me and found it to not be viable?

I was afraid that would be the solution to your problem.  That really  
sucks.  Have you tried using the 1.2 RI?
