Adding additional comments:

I did get an account on the box but never got access to wheel.

Machine was:
hudson-fbsd.zones.apache.org

My goal was to try and build SA on box and find issue

- Checkout from SVN in normal user space - Fails
- Add any missing modules in normal user space
- more

As of today, it took 2+ months to get the account, I then did not get wheel
access and I don't even think the box exists anymore. And infra supports only
Ubuntu now so this entire ticket is likely OBE.

(In reply to Kevin A. McGrail from comment #2)
Looking to see if fixes for bug 6949 have any impact on this issue.

Have opened Jira ticket https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-6473 to
look at updating Perl modules so we can try and build again on FreeBSD slave.

 Regards,
 KAM

INFRA Has installed the minimal perl modules to install mod_perl

We got a little farther but still fail some tests:

https://builds.apache.org/job/SpamAssassin-trunk-FreeBSD/1724/artifact/sa_trunk/artifacts/make_test.log

It then times out at 2 hours and doesn't finish. Anyone familiar with FreeBSD
and we can request a shell on the box for testing?

I found this note in the tests dir README and I think it *might* have some
bearing on the issue:

Testing in a FreeBSD jail
-

see https://issues.apache.org/SpamAssassin/show_bug.cgi?id=5761 for details;
basically, set SPAMD_LOCALHOST to indicate the IP address to use to contact
processes running on the same host, instead of 127.0.0.1.
