[ANNOUNCE] Please welcome new Superset committer

2019-05-07 Thread Maxime Beauchemin
All,

I'm pleased to announce that the Superset PMC has voted in Ville Brofeldt
to be
a committer. Ville has been actively involved in the project for some time
now, contributing patches and participating on Github.
Implementing optimizations to the core of Apache Superset to make it scale.
Please join in me congratulating Ville for becoming a Superset committer.

Welcome Ville!

Cheers,

Max, on behalf of the Superset PMC

Re: Apache Superset community survey

2019-05-07 Thread Maxime Beauchemin
Great feedback Matt. We can evolve the survey and repost it at reasonable
time intervals (6 months maybe?). Hitting `dev@` + Slack as channels
assumes that we're getting feedback from folks that are somewhat
representing their organization and not necessarily final users. It's
probably not the perfect vehicle or set of questions, but it's a start and
can inform future surveys.

Re: Apache Superset community survey

2019-05-07 Thread Matt Berg
Hi Maxime,

This survey looks great but really comes at it from a end user / consumer
perspective.

As a group that's starting to implement Superset heavily and wanting to
figure out ways to contribute back the biggest thing we've struggled with
is ways to provide feedback, get support, provide support, etc. The
existing channels for this aren't very effective. I think adding a question
or two related to maybe soliciting ideas or feedback from the community on
broadening and strengthening community engagement would be very welcome.

We're extremely grateful for all the amazing effort that has gone into
creating Superset. I think this is just an opportunity to potentially open
the door for some discussion around improving community engagement.

Thanks,

Matt

Apache Superset community survey

2019-05-07 Thread Maxime Beauchemin
Hi all,

Please take 5 minutes to help us make Superset better by filling in this
survey!

https://airtable.com/shrWk1lzby7ZjXtGV

I've put together this survey to help us understand the needs of the
community and prioritize how we address them. We would really appreciate
your participation.

I'll be happy to share anonymized results in a week or two.

Thanks!
