I lookek up this bug, and find a similar phenomenon with our problems.
Too much CLOSE_WAIT; Won't accept new requests; Restart is OK; Can't reproduce
by intention but will reproduce after system running for a about a month;
I wonder that is your problem fixed?

It is over 9 months since the original report and no information has been
provided regarding how to reproduce this. Moving to WONTFIX.

Any who can provide the steps to reproduce this on a clean install of a
currently supported version of Tomcat should feel free to re-open this issue
and add the reproduction steps so the issue can be investigated further

I was hoping this was know bug in tomcat 7 and 8 versions. Do you suggest to
install latest 8 release and test ?

This issue appears to be overtime. It works fine without restarting for a month
and then the issue appears suddenly by itself. Not sure how to reproduce the
issue. I have to wait to have enough traffic hitting tomcat servers and then
probably it appears. The issue seems to be with high traffic on the servers
since I haven't encountered this in any QA or Cert

8.0.37 is 6+ months old. Generally, we ask that issues are tested against the
latest release of the appropriate major version before bugs are reported.

You'll need to provide the steps to reproduce this on a clean install of any of
the latest 7.0.x, 8.0.x, 8.5.x or 9.0.x releases.

Without the steps to reproduce the issue, this will eventually get resolved as
INVALID or WORKSFORME.

It is production environment so I have to do it in QA,Cert and then PROD so if
it is confirmed its version issue I can change it. 

I also had same issue in tomcat 8 version in other prod environment we have and
below is the version I'm running.

Server version: Apache Tomcat/8.0.37
Server built:   Sep 1 2016 10:01:52 UTC
Server number:  8.0.37.0
OS Name:Linux
OS Version: 2.6.32-642.4.2.el6.x86_64
Architecture:   amd64
JVM Version:1.8.0_102-b14

Is it possible to test with the latest Tomcat 7 release - 7.0.76?
