Re: [Dev] How to enable SSL for MySQL

Hi Chanika,

Your server is capable of supporting SSL,you need to start in a mode which
enable them to be used according to the reference [1].

[Dev] How to enable SSL for MySQL

2013-07-23 Thread Chanika Geeganage
Hi,

I followed several tutorials to enable SSL for MyQSL. [1] [2]. But still
I'm getting following configuration when I check whether the SSL is enabled.

mysql> show variables like "%ssl%";
+-+-+
| Variable_name | Value |
+-+-+
| have_openssl | DISABLED |
| have_ssl | DISABLED |
| ssl_ca | /etc/mysql/ca-cert.pem|
| ssl_capath | |
| ssl_cert | /etc/mysql/server-cert.pem |
| ssl_cipher| |
| ssl_key | /etc/mysql/server-key.pem |
+-+--+

Re: [Dev] Running multiple g-reg instances

2013-07-23 Thread Sumedha Rubasinghe
This is due to API Management feature starting up a Thrift server &
multiple instances of G-Reg causing a port conflict.
As discussed before on the thread "API Manager PortOffset issue", we are
not supporting port offset for internal servers.

However, after a discussion we realized Thrift server is not used in
embedded API Management scenario of G-Reg. Starting of Thrift server can be
controlled using api-management.xml . Sanjeewa will fix the G-Reg build to
not to start it.

 Hi, Geeth

You have to check in here "jaggery\modules\ws\" and
 also check "org.jaggeryjs.hostobjects.ws.WSStubHostObject" is
 active in test pack

[Tested in git, It works fine.]

basically when there is no multiple user store, "PRIMARY" prefix will not
be there...

Thanks,

 hi,

With AS 5.1.0 the attached web app works when we create a role with the
name manager and assign to a user. But with the new model it seems to be
not working due to some prefixes added to the role names.

 please have a look.

 thanks,

[Dev] Why are we using JSP Scriplets?

2013-07-23 Thread Venura Kahawala
Hi,

Most of the UI components which are written using JSP have bunch of
scriptlets, which is a not a recommended way of implementing UI using JSP
as per my knowledge.
If we use custom tags, anybody looking at the page can understand what the
page is doing very easily as well as we can easily debug a logic since it
is written in pure java.

I'm not aware whether there are any specific reasons behind using
Scriplets, but personally I think custom tags are much cleaner, and
reusable.

Please share your thoughts.

Regards,
Venura

Re: [Dev] Issue when Integrating WSO2 BAM with API Manager

2013-07-23 Thread Hasitha Hiranya
Hi Sinthuja,

I have checked the META_KS keyspace.

I see the event definitions there.
org_wso2_apimgt_statistics_request-1.0.0-f8a23a9c-bc45-4625-b594-882104e3f51b

{"streamId":"org_wso2_apimgt_statistics_request-1.0.0-f8a23a9c-bc45-4625-b594-882104e3f51b","name":"org_wso2_apimgt_statistics_request","version":"1.0.0","nickName":"API
Manager Request Data","description":"Request
Data","metaData":[{"name":"clientType","type":"STRING"}],"payloadData":[{"name":"consumerKey","type":"STRING"},{"name":"context","type":"STRING"},{"name":"api_version","type":"STRING"},{"name":"api","type":"STRING"},{"name":"resource","type":"STRING"},{"name":"method","type":"STRING"},{"name":"version","type":"STRING"},{"name":"request","type":"INT"},{"name":"requestTime","type":"LONG"},{"name":"userId","type":"STRING"},{"name":"hostName","type":"STRING"}]}

And there are definitions for org_wso2_apimgt_statistics_response and
org_wso2_apimgt_statistics_fault as well.

Why bam cannot find them?

I removed the stream definitions responsible and restarted BAM server. Then
restarted API manager as well.
But still problem exists.

I think Stream definitions were recreated.

Thanks.

The downloadable zip at [2] is the appfactory build, but for AF to

The plan was to have the AF + stratos with the puppet scripts to setup
 the environment.
AFAIR Ramith was working on puppet scripts.

Yea. I'm still testing/cleaning the scripts.
we will provide that as a down-loadable artifact once done.

Basically if it is an internal role, role is named as internal/myrole or in
a user store PRIMARY/myrole.

Re: [Dev] Status of webapp stat publishing for aPaaS

2013-07-23 Thread Amila Maha Arachchi
Thanks Shariq.

If the bam.xml only shipped with AS? Seems like we'll have to use it for
this purpose. Make sure to use secure vault for this.

Lets make sure the analyzed stats are ready by end of this week, so the AF
team can start working on presentation layer.

Re: [Dev] Is there a setup guide for App-factory?

2013-07-23 Thread Ashansa Perera
Hi,
The downloadable zip at [2] is the appfactory build, but for AF to function
needs all the other required products + the tools we use. You won't be able
to unzip the AF zip and work as like other products since AF is a solution
rather than a product we built by using other product + tools .

The plan was to have the AF + stratos with the puppet scripts to setup the
environment.
AFAIR Ramith was working on puppet scripts.

Re: [Dev] Status of webapp stat publishing for aPaaS

2013-07-23 Thread Shariq Muhammed
Hi,

I've refactored the existing bam.webapp.stat.publisher component to publish
to ST streamDef based on the "enable.metering" property in carbon.xml. Also
added 2 new properties to capture the request and response sizes and
publish those to BAM as well.

>From my test so far with regard to the tomcat patch in RequestInfo class
and the statistics valve, it seems we can get the request and response
message size as follows;

Request size - request.getCoyoteRequest().getContentLengthLong();
Response size - response.getBytesWritten(true) // for some reason
passing *false
*always returns 0

I tried to validate the approach via the tomcat user's list, but got some
hostile responses cz they thought I was doing something useless :). They
suggest logging this info to the access log file (which is also done via a
valve) and use a tool to analyze it which won't work for us.

TODO
- Need a config file to save the username/password used by the data
publisher, is bam.xml the right place to have it ?
- Update the hive scripts
- Do some perf test to check if the valve introduces any perf issues, I
feel we might be able to do some improvements to the valve as well, will
check on that too ..

Hi,

We will migrate to jaggery into 4.2.0 (in-progress) and it will fix
the relative
path issue in p2.inf file.

 Hi,

"modules" directory which comes with jaggery.server.feature is missing
in the root. It is copied to /repository/ directory when installing
the feature as per the copy command defined in p2.inf .

But AS bin.xml assumes it is in the root. I think this is the problem
 here.
Are we missing a mid step here? or can we change the p2.inf to copy
 "modules" to the root?

 Thanks.

Re: [Dev] Response Caching/ throttling still in developer testing phase.

2013-07-23 Thread Pradeep Fernando
Hi,

you can proceed with testing. Testing should include (but not limited to)
below scenarios,

standalone (super tenant) with caching and throttling
multiple tenants in a single node
clustered super tenant mode
clustered tenant mode.

throttling should be tested for service and operation level.

@Krishantha,
@AS team

do we have auto tests for caching and throttling ?

 Hi,

Caching issues have been fixed with revision 178732, Now test failure
count is 1 and it is registry related issue. As i found following code
segment return configRegistry value as null, this will cause to throw an
AxisFault. Any idea how to fix this?

 configRegistry =
 (Registry)
 PrivilegedCarbonContext.getCurrentContext(axisConfig). //needed for
 TransportPM

 getRegistry(RegistryType.SYSTEM_CONFIGURATION)

 if (configRegistry == null) {
throw new AxisFault("Configuration Registry is not
 available");
 }

 Thanks,
 Shameera.

 Hi, Geeth

You have to check in here "jaggery\modules\ws\" and
 also check "org.jaggeryjs.hostobjects.ws.WSStubHostObject" is active
 in test pack

[Tested in git, It works fine.]

 Hi Asela, Shameera,

Yes, and this issue is fixed.. But still the service-mgt and module-mgt
tests fail which is related to caching+registry. We should take a full
update and build to make sure that issue is really there.

[Dev] Shall we remove _ (underscore) suffix component from kernel trunk

2013-07-23 Thread Shameera Rathnayaka
Hi Devs,

Kernel trunk has 9 components with underscore suffix with it and those have
nothing to do with kernel build. This will be a problem when cut the 4.2.0
branch. Shall we remove these components from kernel trunk?

@Prabath, have you copied these implementations to a scratch area. If not
please do it.

T
hanks,
