[Dev] Exception in shutting down CEP server due to webapp.mgt lazyUnload

2013-09-11 Thread Sriskandarajah Suhothayan
webapp.mgt lazyUnload happens 3 times per webapp when shutting down the
server (in both CEP and AS), here on the 1st two times the cleanup is
called by the carbon server shutdown hock and the 3rd time by some other
thread. In CEP on 3rd time a null pointer is thrown. since the tomcat
service is getting unregistered before the call

You can find the issue at

Re: [Dev] Build error on 4.2.0 platform chunk 01(clean repo)

2013-09-11 Thread Lasantha Fernando
Hi all,

It seems that service stubs related to CEP have released with chunk01. We
have done some changes to those stubs. We'll revert those changes to the
release version to keep the chunk 01 build intact and bump the stub
versions for chunk02 release.

Thanks,
Lasantha

+1.. Please don't commit to any released artefacts. We had to release all
the stubs, because the test framework uses most of them.

Thanks,
Sameera.

It seems that service stubs related to CEP have released with chunk01. We

 Thanks,

Re: [Dev] Build failure in 4.2.0 kernel branch {was : Build Failure Trunk}

2013-09-11 Thread Shameera Rathnayaka
Hi Ranga/Janaka,

There is a relative path issue and we are trying to solve it. BTW we are
encouraging people to not to build kernel 4.2.0 branch and
platform/products-releases/chunk-01 ( actually you don't need to build
those) as we have deployed all released jars to nexus repo. And also please
start 4.2.0 branch chunk-02 or higher with clean repo unless you will face
unexpected issues in build time as well as runtime.

Thanks,
Shameera.

Re: [Dev] WSO2 ELB - wso2server.sh works only on 64bit

2013-09-11 Thread Isuru Perera
Hi all,

I copied wso2server* scripts from Carbon 4.2.0 and added following
parameters specific to ELB. This also fixes
https://wso2.org/jira/browse/LB-99

-Dwso2.loadbalancer=true
-Dloadbalancer.conf=file:repository/conf/loadbalancer.conf
-DreverseProxyMode=true

What shall we do about the original question regarding
LB-72https://wso2.org/jira/browse/LB-72
?

Following are the JVM parameters currently used in ELB.

-d64 \
-server \
-Xms1500m -Xmx3000m \
-XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m \
-XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+UseParNewGC -XX:-UseGCOverheadLimit \
-XX:+CMSClassUnloadingEnabled \
-XX:+OptimizeStringConcat \

Discussed with Sameera and he said we should keep these in ELB.

LB-72 https://wso2.org/jira/browse/LB-72 just asks to remove -d64. How
should we resolve this?

Thanks!

I would want that to be there. If a user requires, they can themselves
remove the -d64. I have never come across a support issue or user query
where the user expressed concern over the -d64 parameter. This was done to
get the best possible optimizations for the ELB.

 -DreverseProxyMode=true

What shall we do about the original question regarding
 LB-72https://wso2.org/jira/browse/LB-72
 ?

Following are the JVM parameters currently used in ELB.

 -d64 \
 -server \
 -Xms1500m -Xmx3000m \
 -XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m \
 -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+UseParNewGC
 -XX:-UseGCOverheadLimit \
 -XX:+CMSClassUnloadingEnabled \
 -XX:+OptimizeStringConcat \

Discussed with Sameera and he said we should keep these in ELB.

 LB-72 https://wso2.org/jira/browse/LB-72 just asks to remove -d64.
 How should we resolve this?

 Thanks!

Still we are getting timeout issue frequently and not able to connect with
Greg console from 1 user. Seems like spinning issue is fixed in the ELB. We
have set *http. connection. timeout=12* in the passthru-http.properties
file as suggested by Nirmal, but no difference was seen.

Hi all,

I believe that this is part of being able to add a Documentation Link and
Icon for APIs that are published in the Embedded API Store. Lakmali, can
you outline what needs to be changed and added?

Thanks,

[Dev] Carbon 4.2.0 wso2server.sh start gives an error if it has been started earlier

2013-09-11 Thread Isuru Perera
Hi Carbon Team,

$subject

Tested with released WSO2 Application Server 5.2.0.

Steps

   1. Start server - ./wso2server.sh start
   2. Stop server - ./wso2server.sh stop
   3. Start server again - ./wso2server.sh start
   4. I get - ps: write error: Bad file descriptor (Server starts up
   fine)

I noticed this after committing the script for WSO2 ELB 2.1.0. :/

Please check why that error is coming.

Thanks!

 Hi IsuruP,

Can we also check on why the stop command issues a kill -9 instead
of kill -term in ELB's start-up script? Why this is different from
 default carbon server script?

wso2server.sh had `kill -9` for some reason. I changed the script now. I
copied Carbon 4.2.0 script and updated ELB specific parameters there.

There is also a related JIRA: https://wso2.org/jira/browse/LB-99

 Thanks,

 Hi all,

I copied wso2server* scripts from Carbon 4.2.0 and added following
parameters specific to ELB. This also fixes
 https://wso2.org/jira/browse/LB-99

 -Dwso2.loadbalancer=true
 -Dloadbalancer.conf=file:repository/conf/loadbalancer.conf
 -DreverseProxyMode=true

What shall we do about the original question regarding
 LB-72https://wso2.org/jira/browse/LB-72
 ?

Following are the JVM parameters currently used in ELB.

 -d64 \
 -server \
 -Xms1500m -Xmx3000m \
 -XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m \
 -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+UseParNewGC
 -XX:-UseGCOverheadLimit \
 -XX:+CMSClassUnloadingEnabled \
 -XX:+OptimizeStringConcat \

Discussed with Sameera and he said we should keep these in ELB.

LB-72 https://wso2.org/jira/browse/LB-72 just asks to remove
-d64. How should we resolve this?

 Thanks!

 Hi all,

 This is regarding LB-72 https://wso2.org/jira/browse/LB-72

I saw somewhere that ELB should use production recommended
 configuration in wso2server.sh.

I think, we could use the default values come with Carbon 4.2.0
scripts and update the docs to inform user about recommended
 parameters for
 production.

 WDYT?

 Thanks,

 Hi Ranga/Janaka,

There is a relative path issue and we are trying to solve it. BTW we are
encouraging people to not to build kernel 4.2.0 branch and
platform/products-releases/chunk-01 ( actually you don't need to build
those) as we have deployed all released jars to nexus repo.

Still these release branches should be able to build ..

And also please start 4.2.0 branch chunk-02 or higher with clean repo
unless you will face unexpected issues in build time as well as runtime.

 Thanks,

We don't know about new changes you guys are doing at AM level, If you
are adding some thing new please be kind enough to change the G-Reg side as
 well.

This is not an AM level change. This change is for startup publishing GREG
APIs with images and document URLs as requested in[1]. Only thing you have
to is adding required images to GREG pack.

Please fix those issues and this is blocking us providing a pack for QA.

This is not an issue. This is related to the implementation requested by
GREG team [1]. Please add the relevant images to the GREG pack.
