[Dev] [API Analytics] - Job scheduling

2016-05-17 Thread Iranga Muthuthanthri
Hi,

In API analytics for alert generation for use cases such as abnormal API
Request count it's required to the spark scripts be executed before to get
the percentile calculations. The spark scripts by default are scheduled for
12pm every day ( in this scenario) meaning at the start alerts will be
missed till the scripts are executed). Therefore would it make sense make
to make the spark job running schedule configurable via the admin
dashboard or an admin tool to simplify the user experience.

The following information needs to be added in documentation as well.

Re: [Dev] What should be the default port for analytics servers

2016-05-10 Thread Iranga Muthuthanthri
Should not we have a different offset than 1 and use a 'different-offset'
(e.g:10?), since for single node deployment there could include multiple
 runtimes such as ESB(runtime) + API-M(runtime) with one analytical
server ( having multiple product analytics features). 'different- offset'
might be more easier for cloud deployment setup as well

[Dev] Getting ML model (1.1.0) working with DAS (3.0.0)

2016-01-22 Thread Iranga Muthuthanthri
Hi,

In order to build an integrated analytics scenario (Batch, Realtime and
Predictive) with DAS 3.0.0 tried the following steps in a local server
though by installing and using CEP-ML extension in DAS. The steps followed
are below.

1.) Installed ML 1.1.0 features in DAS 3.0.0.
2) Created a model through ML 1.1.0 .
3.) Publish model to DAS registry .
4.) Use the ML extention through execution plan.

 The following exceptions is observed at Server startup, possibly due to
the issue of "supporting multiple Spark context in a jvm"[2]. Can start
the server with command wso2server.sh -DdisableAnalyticsSparkCtx=true

However this prevents using the batch analytics features in DAS,

Is there a solution to get all three integrated analytics with DAS
3.0.0?Is there a way use the ML model to overcome issue[2]

Re: [Dev] Visualizing room data with BAM

2015-07-29 Thread Iranga Muthuthanthri
Hi Corey,Di,

Would it be useful if we sync and discuss on how to use DAS for your
project(s).

Regards,
Iranga

On Wed, Jul 29, 2015 at 1:21 PM, Gihan Anuruddha gi...@wso2.com wrote:

 Mainly we changed the analytics engine(Hive/Hadoop to Spark) and
 introduced the plugable data layer. In BAM, we are bound to Cassandra as a
 primary persistent storage, but with DAS you can use RDBMS, HBase or
 Cassandra. Also, we introduced Lucene based indexing and much improved
 dashboard creation tools.

 Your existing event publishing will work OOB, so you don't need to do
 anything. If you have and hive script, then you need to convert those to
 Spark SQL based script.

 When I originially started the project it was recommended that I use BAM,
 however since then I've received several suggestions to use DAS instead.
 What exactly is the difference between the two frameworks? Would it be
 worth trying to transfer all of my work so far?

 Hi Devs,

 Stratos is integrated with DAS for Metering service and Monitoring Health
 Statistics. In order to implement this requirement, following idea is used:

- Here for the Metering service, Instance details (cluster level
instance count with time and member level instance details with autoscaling
decision) are published from Stratos to DAS, persisted in HBase, analyzed
using Spark and saved in MySQL and then shown in DAS dashboard.
- For the Monitoring service, Health Statistics aggregated by CEP is
sent to DAS and then shown in dashboard as shown above.

 Would it not be possible to do this within DAS it self, since
CEP(realtime) features are available in DAS itself?

 Currently, I'm in the stage of getting part of instance details and
 showing it in dashboard.

 Thanks.

 I could not find any simple official documentation on running Storm on

 Hi all,

 Following up on MQTT integration to MB 3.0.0, we need to add a few samples
 promoting some strong use cases for MQTT with MB.

 Some use cases we have in mind are :

- IOT related - publish device state via MQTT to MB
- Mock Publishing state of several sensors in vehicles to hierarchical
   topics each second
  - vehicle type - vehicle model - engine temperature
  - speed
  - acceleration
   - QOS 0
   - A last will testament which is received when the vehicle moves
   out of range

   - A chat client
   - Group chats
   - QOS 2

 If there are any other scenarios that we need to cover in sample please
 provide your feedback.

[Dev] [Dev-MB] Guaranteed Message Delivery issue in fail over

2014-03-13 Thread Iranga Muthuthanthri
Hi All,

In a MB message produce consume scenario for fail over, if the message
producing MB node fails before delivering all the messages it was observed
that there was a message loss(by observing the Cassandra queue count).

What are the workaround possible for this considering the guaranteed
message delivery model.

Note: The message consuming and producing MB nodes are the same.

Thanks for the suggestion, the problem is what happens at the wire level in
the message producer when the message broker is down, before the message is
received by the consumer .

@ Supun: Yes, This has been observed intermittently

 Hi Iranga,

 What are the failover options you have used in the connection string? Are
 there 'retries' and 'connectdelay' options configured. They determine the
 number of times a connection to a broker will be retried and the the length
 of time to wait between successive connection attempts before moving on to
 the next broker in. Have we tried with setting retires to 1 and
 connectdelay to 0 ( which are default values) so then the broker will try
 to connect immediately to the next one available?

 Thanks!

Re: [Dev] How to creat a Worker/Manager Cluster in different machines?

2013-12-16 Thread Iranga Muthuthanthri
Hi Steve,

Please try changing the local member port in the ELB to a value
different(e.g:4100) from the group_mgt_port value (4000)

Iranga

  Hi:

  In http://docs.wso2.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=29918203
 , it describe the method to create a Worker/Manager Cluster,

 but it only include 1 manager node and 1 worker node and they are in the same
 machine.

 For ELB,
 In elb-home/repository/conf/loadbalancer.conf, it sets
 appserver {
   domains{
  wso2.as.domain {
 tenant_range *;
 group_mgt_port 4000;
 mgt {
 hosts mgt.as.cloud-test.wso2.com;
 }
 worker {
hosts as.cloud-test.wso2.com;
 }
  }
}
 }
 In host, it sets
 127.0.0.1 mgt.as.cloud-test.wso2.com
 127.0.0.1 as.cloud-test.wso2.com

 For manager node,
 in carbon.xml,it sets
 HostNameas.cloud-test.wso2.com/HostName
 MgtHostNamemgt.as.cloud-test.wso2.com/MgtHostName

 For worker node,
 in carbon.xml,it sets
 HostNameas.cloud-test.wso2.com/HostName

 I want to create a cluster including 1 manager node and 2 worker nodes, and
 they are all in different machines.
 for example
 manager node in 192.168.10.10
 work1 node   in 192.168.10.11
 work2 node   in 192.168.10.12

 Anyone knows how to modify in the above places?
