[Dev] Invalid content in APIM documentation
Hi all, Writing custom authenticate handlers as described in [1] seems to be no longer valid. With APIM 1.7.0 on-wards we have to introduce custom authentication handlers by editing the template file located in AM_HOME/repository/resources/api_templates/velocity_template.xml. However when doing that we have to make sure that it skips the default APIAuthenticationHandler too. Please see the following modified segment in that file which does this, handlers xmlns=http://ws.apache.org/ns/synapse; handler class=org.wso2.carbon.apimgt.custom.authentication.handler.CustomAPIAuthenticationHandler / #foreach($handler in $handlers) #if(!($handler.className == org.wso2.carbon.apimgt.gateway.handlers.security.APIAuthenticationHandler)) handler xmlns=http://ws.apache.org/ns/synapse; class=$handler.className #if($handler.hasProperties()) #set ($map = $handler.getProperties() ) #foreach($property in $map.entrySet()) property name=$!property.key value=$!property.value/ #end #end /handler #end #end /handlers We have to do this as the handlers are passed from the code itself. Also please note that the package name of the custom implementation in [1] should be changed as it will conflict with org.wso2.carbon.apimgt.gateway bundle which will lead to some class loading issues. Please correct me if am wrong on this. [Dev] [Appfactory] Integrating social framework with App Factory
Hi all, I am working on the $subject and we are going to ingrate the social framework which is already used in Enterprise Store. Is this can be installed as a single feature? or else do we have to install several features related to BAM and install the Jaggery app related to social framework separately? If latter is the case how hard for making an aggregate feature for this? WDYT? [Dev] Registry Update Inconsistency
Hi all, We are experiencing following inconsistency wrt a registry update. We are storing some values in registry from appfactory wrt following resource path. /System/governance/dependacies/dev/keys We have a development appserver which is mounted to following path. /System/governance/dependacies/dev The problem we are en counting here is that after we updating the value for the resource path /System/governance/dependacies/dev/keys from appfactory it does not get reflected in the appserver registry until some time (time is apprxmately 15 mins). Instead appserver shows the previous value which was stored 15 mins before. Seems like some inconsistency with the caching causes this problem. Any idea ? Re: [Dev] [Appfactory] Timeout occurred when a tenant is logged for the first time in ESB instance.
Hi, This is occurred when authorizing user roles for the the topics in org.wso2.carbon.event.core component for (String role : userRealm.getUserStoreManager().getRoleNames()) { userRealm.getAuthorizationManager().authorizeRole( role, topicStoragePath, EventBrokerConstants.EB_PERMISSION_SUBSCRIBE); userRealm.getAuthorizationManager().authorizeRole( role, topicStoragePath, EventBrokerConstants.EB_PERMISSION_PUBLISH); } There are 6 roles in appfac (dev,qa, devops etc) and this authorization for the topic is done for each role, which takes apprx 2 mins time. [Dev] [Appfactory] Deploying ESB aaplication underlying CAPP
Hi, We discussed to deploy the ESB applications by deploying whole synapse folder structure to S2 separately. If we go with this approach it would be fine for the simple ESB use cases like adding proxy service. But as far as bit complex scenarios where the registry resources are getting involved are concerned this would be bit hard achieve. Instead of that when deploying can't we create a CAPP including ESB application files from appfactorty side and deploy it in ESB instance through S2. Then its matter of integrating CAPP creation logic with appfactory side. Users won't see it as an CAPP but only for the deployment purposes it is being converted to a CAPP. What are the consequences of this ? Thanks -- Shamika Ariyawansa Senior Software Engineer Mob:+ 94 772929486 ___ Dev mailing list Dev@wso2.org http://wso2.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/dev

[Dev] [Appfactory] Deploy ESB application from Appfactory
Hi, Our initial thought was to deploy synapse.xml from appfactory to S2. This works fine with super tenant. But as we have been informed by the ESB team that deploying the synapse.xml will not work with multi-tenancy as it does not get split up to proxy-services, sequences etc. Instead we have to deploy whole directory structure separately. To do that we may have to create a new archetype for ESB applications containing the synapse folder structure so that the folders get deployed separately. As there is no version concept being involved for ESB type applications this looks fine. Can we get the idea how the developer studio handles this problem too. -- Shamika Ariyawansa Senior Software Engineer Mob:+ 94 772929486 ___ Dev mailing list Dev@wso2.org http://wso2.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/dev

[Dev] [AppFactory] Current work on ETA
Hi, Currently in Appfactory, the ETA calculation for a particular application is done by recording each users preference dates for the completion and taking the maximum value as the expected completion date. Governance page, provides the facility for the each user to suggest his/her expected date of completion for current life cycle stage as shown in below. [image: Inline image 1] Then by taking the maximum value out of those and display as the expected date of completion of that stage in the application home page as shown in below [image: Inline image 2] This information is displayed per application. Currently there is no place to see this information for all the applications. As a solution we can show this information with the executive dash broad so that it will display details like what are the completion dates and what are the delayed application as a whole. For this new API will be created considering all the applications and new gadget will be introduced in executive dash board. Re: [Dev] Build Failed for https://svn.wso2.org/repos/wso2/carbon/kernel/branches/4.0.0
Hi, Why we build 4.0.5 but not 4.0.6. I tried to build 4.0.6 but gets the following error in kernel. Failed to execute goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-assembly-plugin:2.4:attached (2-dist) on project wso2carbon-core: Failed to create assembly: Error adding file to archive: /home/shamika/wso2/workspace/kernel/branches/4.0.0/distribution/kernel/4.0.6/../../../core/org.wso2.carbon.core/4.0.5/target/Version.aar isn't a file. - [Help 1] On Fri, Jan 4, 2013 at 2:43 PM, Amila Maha Arachchi ami...@wso2.com wrote: On Fri, Jan 4, 2013 at 1:58 PM, Chanaka Fernando chana...@wso2.comwrote: Thanks all. Build was successful. I used the MAVEN_OPTS mentioned in this mail thread and now i can build from the start without using -rf option. One more question, What is the purpose of building from patch-releases folder rather than building from the root folder? We have done 4.0.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2,., 4.0.5 release using the 4.0.0 branch. After each release we deploy jars to a repository so that the next releases can make use of them. Therefore, you dont need to build from 4.0.0 root. Older versions are available in the online repository. On Fri, Jan 4, 2013 at 1:46 PM, Eranda Sooriyabandara era...@wso2.comwrote: Hi Chanaka, -rf means resume from. That means you don't need to start the build from the beginning but continue it from wso2carbon-core. thanks Eranda On Fri, Jan 4, 2013 at 1:34 PM, Chanaka Fernando chana...@wso2.comwrote: I have set the *MAVEN_OPTS = -Xmx2048m -Xms512m -XX:MaxPermSize=800m -XX:ReservedCodeCacheSize=256m* Build was successful with the following command. * mvn clean install -rf :wso2carbon-core -Dmaven.test.skip=true* I put this *-rf :wso2carbon-core* option from the previous error message.
