Re: [Dev] New Feature for WSO2 Governance Registry - Exemption to Life-cycle Policies for a particular period (RM Feature- #477)

2014-05-24 Thread Vishmi Money
Hi,
Yes. I think it is. I have handled this time validation inside the
constructor of DefaultLifeCycle.java class itself, so that whenever a
lifecycle is taken in to account, time validity will be checked and
relevant actions will be taken. So even when an API call is triggered, and
when the associated lifecycle of an artifact is called, anyway this will be
called from the backend right? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks,
Vishmi.

 Hi Vishmi,

The same works well with the API calls right? I mean if there is an
exemption configured, you will get the respective privileges enabled when
you make API calls as well isn't it?

 Thanks,
 Senaka.

 Hi,
I have developed this feature for WSO2 Governance Registry, to enable the
exemption of users from requiring certain privileges, to perform certain
life-cycle operations during a given period, based on some exemption policy.

With this feature a specific time period can be assigned for life-cycle
states and can enable disable UI elements according to the time policy. And
also a user is notified about the privilege expiry before a defined time.

For more information you can refer to my git hub repository.

 Further improvements:

- Date Format validation in xml Validation itself.
- Notifications can be sent as a task for work list.
- Showing a message near the UI elements saying why it is disabled.
- Allow users to specify the time when notifications should be sent
to them.
- Improving this feature as a subscription.
