Ok. https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Buildroot_override_SOP is the working SOP we have for this, although I notice it doesn't say what to do with the tickets. We typically assign the ticket to ourself, whoever is doing the tag, so that when the reporter says the build is done we see it and can do the untag and close the ticket. I updated it to mention the ticket handling. I just wonder, is there no verification done one the request, e.g. is everybody allowed to request a build override or is it restricted to package (co)maintainers and provenpackagers? I only found this regarding verification: | Buildroot overrides usually means that something is soname bumping. This query only reports tickets assigned to rel-eng@ in the component koji, I guess it is more accurate or are there many tag requests that are not in the koji component? https://fedorahosted.org/rel-eng/query?status=newstatus=assignedstatus=reopenedcomponent=kojiowner=rel-eng%40lists.fedoraproject.orgorder=priority I added this to the SOP as well. Call for Participation - Fedora 13 Talking Points
Talking points are key highlights of the new release. They should be compelling, but they will not necessarily be comprehensive. There are different types of talking points for different types of people: general desktop users/everyone, developers, and sysadmins. For the Fedora 13 cycle, we will also have talking points to address some of the Spins. They are meant to provide a short, effective answer to the question, What cool stuff is in the latest release of Fedora? Each cycle, the Marketing team compiles a short list of approximately three talking points for each of these audiences for the upcoming release. For Fedora 13, they're found here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_13_Talking_Points If you have a talking point that you feel meets the criteria found on the talking points SOP page at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Talking_points_SOP, add it to the the table on the F13 page with supporting information. Please make your contributions and changes on the wiki page, so that the Marketing team can efficiently capture and consider your input. The Marketing team will make final adjustments to the list of talking points at their meeting on February 23, which will be announced on the marketing list and is open to everyone. If you are interested in attending the meeting, the agenda, location, and time details can be found at http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Marketing_meetings. Following the meeting, the finalized list of talking points will be announced, and posted to https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_13_Talking_Points. We welcome you to participate in the process! Cheers, Jonathan Both packages have the same Update ID. You can access your update by going to https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/shorewall-4.4.6-2.fc12 It looks like today's push started overlapping IDs... I'm looking into it, and will reassign ID's once it is fixed. A couple of my updates suffer from the same problem. Is it still under investigation and should I just wait or should I report the specific problems? A large number of updates currently suffer from duplicate IDs, and I need to figure out a clever way to fix it. If you want some details as to how this happened... Bodhi's PackageUpdate.assign_id method is insane, mainly to hack around SQLObject shortcomings. This method apparently relied on the PackageUpdate.date_pushed field *not* getting updated when an update goes from testing-stable in order to determine the last ID assigned. I recently made a change that updates this timestamp when a testing update hits stable, and thus broke the id assignment algorithm (sadly, not the test suite (which is up to 101 unit tests, btw)). I'm working on a script to fix all of these duplicates at once, as well as an improved ID assignment algorithm. luke -- devel mailing list devel@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/devel

urgent help needed with Miro rebuild failure blocking security update
Hi there, I'm the Miro maintainer and the new xulrunner/firefox API bump causes a broken dep because Miro wasn't able to be rebuilt see: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/F12/FEDORA-2010-1727 and: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=566883 The proximate cause of this rebuild failure is that pkg-config is trying to locate the libsepol.pc file: Package config error: pkg-config --list-all outputted the following error: Package libsepol was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `libsepol.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable Package 'libsepol', required by 'libselinux', not found error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.yAs5sB (%build) full logs here: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=157187 http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/getfile?taskID=1996504name=build.log What's odd is that the exact same package compiles fine on F-11 with the new xulrunner: http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/packages/Miro/2.5.4/2.fc11/data/logs/x86_64/build.log and the failure isn't related to the new API for xulrunner AFAICT and libsepol-devel is a BuildRequire and is correctly installed (see the root.log above). Agreed, but the real problem with adding devel-versions packages to Fedora is them introducing unstable (likely temporary) ABI/APIs, and in case of perl-modules, is them also not being unlikely to add perl version-numbering and CPAN issues.
