Could you post it on fedora-devel list? Rpmlint might offer better explanation or change it to warning: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=700095 Incorrect FSF address is something that should be reported to upstreams. FUDCon EMEA travel subsidies are open
(I just sent the following mail to the ambassadors list and then figured out, that we may want to have developers at Milan, so I think it's a good idea to send this to this list, too) Hi there, if you are planing to attend FUDCon Milan 2011 and need travel subsidies, the ticket system is now open. If you need sponsoring, please 1. register at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FUDCon:Milan_2011#Pre-registration 2. put an X in the $$$ column 3. make a funding request in the the FUDCon ticket tracker at https://fedorahosted.org/fudcon-planning/wiki/FundingRequest 4. General instructions about sponsoring can be found at http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Sponsoring_event_attendees Funding requests without a ticket will not be considered. We have a limited budget and will work hard to fund as many people as possible. We'll use these answers to help figure out budgeting for the event. We are making arrangements for attendees from other geographic regions to encourage specific initiatives such as future FUDCon events, but preference may otherwise be given to people in EMEA. The next subsidy meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 16th at 15:00 UTC in #fudcon-planning. Please show up in case the event organizers have questions about your request. Re: build dependency loop in guava / gwt
I talked to jlaska about this, but his response was: I maintain a gwt package in a private repo since it's a %buildrequires for autotest. However, I've given up on attempting to package the world of java just since it's way beyond my skill level. so in it's current state, it contains a slew of bundled JARs that would never be accepted as an official Fedora package. so my original question about how to handle the guava-gwt dependency loop still stands. --Andy On Thu, Aug 4, 2011 at 1:32 PM, Andy Grimm agr...@gmail.com wrote: I did see a spec file at http://jlaska.fedorapeople.org/ , but it didn't look functional. I'm looking into packaging gwt (Google Web Toolkit) 2.3 and guava r09. In this new version (unlike Fedora's current version r05), the full guava build requires gwt. gwt, of course, requires guava to build. So, I'm looking at doing the following: * build guava without guava-gwt (so that gwt is not required for the build) * build gwt (which has a whole pile of other problems, but that's for another day) * build guava-gwt as a completely separate package, using essentially the same upstream source as the guava package Is this the accepted way to go about this? or should I actually be using a bootstrap guava package to build gwt, and then rebuild guava with a guava-gwt subpackage (thus leaving a build dependency loop). --Andy -- devel mailing list devel@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/devel -- devel mailing list devel@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/devel -- devel mailing list devel@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/devel

Looking in yum I don't see perl5i anywhere, and I'm wondering why. Simply because it's not a dependency of anything else that we have and no-one was interested in packaging it yet. Would it be possible to get perl5i added to the Fedora yum repos? Looks like there's a bunch of dependencies that we're missing too. If you add a new section to the Perl wishlist[1] with the outstanding dependency tree, I'm sure one or more of us will get around to adding them at some point.
