[Test-Announce] Fedora 18 Alpha Test Compose 6 (TC6) Available Now!
As per the Fedora 18 schedule [1], Fedora 18 Alpha Test Compose 6 (TC6) is now available for testing. Content information, including changes, can be found at https://fedorahosted.org/rel-eng/ticket/5284#comment:13 . Please see the following pages for download links (including delta ISOs) and testing instructions. Normally dl.fedoraproject.org should provide the fastest download, but download-ib01.fedoraproject.org is available as a mirror (with an approximately 1 hour lag) in case of trouble. To use it, just replace dl with download-ib01 in the download URL. Installation: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Results:Current_Installation_Test Base: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Results:Current_Base_Test Desktop: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Results:Current_Desktop_Test Ideally, all Alpha priority test cases for Installation [2], Base [3], and Desktop [4] should pass in order to meet the Alpha Release Criteria [5]. Help is available on #fedora-qa on irc.freenode.net [6], or on the test list [7]. The 'hot problems' will be very useful for us, as we were just talking last week about reporting such a list upstream periodically. I looked at the only kernel bug caught so far.. https://retrace.fedoraproject.org/faf/reports/452/ 'my_init' isn't part of the kernel package. Could you add some way of filtering out reports from things we don't ship ? Or was this a test-case ? Yes, this was a test-case. Support for kernel oops reporting is not yet in F17, we will add it with the next update. Related: How would I close reports so they don't show up on the list ? Not possible at the moment. For now, server will track associated BZs and close reports automatically. We will add this functionality along with FAS integration. Further related: Clicking 'login' makes this happen.. snip followed by 3-4 pages of additional spew. Debug disabled, we will fix the login URL soon. [Test-Announce] Reminder: Go/No-Go Meeting today 3 PM EDT (19:00 UTC)
Join us on irc.freenode.net in #fedora-meeting-1 for this important meeting, wherein we shall determine the readiness of the Fedora 18 Alpha. As previously announced last week, we moved Go/No-Go two hours earlier. Thursday, September 06, 2012 @21:00 UTC (15:00 EDT/21:00 CEST) Before each public release Development, QA and Release Engineering meet to determine if the release criteria are met for a particular release. This meeting is called the Go/No-Go Meeting. Verifying that the Release criteria are met is the responsibility of the QA Team. For more details about this meeting see: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Go_No_Go_Meeting In the meantime, keep an eye on the Fedora 18 Alpha Blocker list: http://qa.fedoraproject.org/blockerbugs/current -- Jaroslav Řezník jrez...@redhat.com Your Schedule Wrangler Office: +420 532 294 275 Mobile: +420 602 797 774 Red Hat, Inc. http://www.redhat.com/ ___ test-announce mailing list test-annou...@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/test-announce -- devel mailing list devel@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/devel

Re: F17: DirectFB
Trying to run directfb on F17 I noticed 5 issues: 1) libdirectfb_vdpau.so: undefined symbol: XUnlockDisplay (Bug 852740: fixed) 2) Unable to run DirectFB as a normal user (Bug 852745: open) 3) permissions on /dev/tty* and /dev/fb* not set by udev (probably should be addressed and fixed under Bug 852745) 4) inteldrmfb driver emulation of fbdev interface incomplete (Bug 853268: open) 5) directfb needs updated to 1.6.1 (no bug yet) I tested the fix in Bug 852740 and that bug is fixed in 1.5.3-8 in F17 although the other errors still keep directfb from working. Is there anything else I can do to help test and get directfb upgraded to 1.6.1 and working for both regular and root users? Re: [Test-Announce] Fedora 18 Alpha to slip by another one week
Hi, On Fri, Sep 7, 2012 at 1:36 AM, Jaroslav Reznik jrez...@redhat.com wrote: Today at Go/No-Go meeting it was decided to slip Fedora 18 Alpha release by one week due to remaining open blocker bugs [1] and incomplete test matrices for Alpha [2][3][4]. Meeting's full log is at [5]. As a result, ALL MAJOR MILESTONES, and their dependent tasks, will be pushed out by one week. The next Go/No-Go meeting is on Thursday Sep 13, same place, same time (19:00 UTC, 3 PM EDT, 21:00 CEST #fedora-meeting-1). If you have an accepted blocker bug, please try to fix it as soon as possible to help us with Fedora 18 Alpha release! How long we are going to wait updates requested for stable? If slip continues for another several weeks, are we going to make wait newly built packages for f18 testing? Test days are going to affect by this.
