Danishka, can you give more context for your question?

Over 450 fonts available in the fonts group.

The @fonts group only installs 36 fonts by default. ;) :)

Are you asking what default installed fonts can safely be removed for
English only (Latin script) usage??

Orphaned packages looking for new maintainer

2018-12-26 Thread Robert Mayr
Hi all,
I had to take a break from Fedora for the last months and I'm slowly
restarting with some contributions, but I need to limit my activity to a
few things.
That's the reason why I want to give up packaging and to hand over my few
packages to someone else who is able to keep them up to date better than me.
Some of them also have co-maintainers, my short list is here:

* autotrash
* python-parsley
* python-txsocksx
* torbrowser-launcher
* wifi-radar

For others I am just admin or committer, so I guess I can just unwatch them.
Let me know if anyone wants them.

Kind regards.

Re: Minimum fonts required for Fedora en_US

Hi,

Minimal font set is a hugely subjective question that depends on whether
you care about missing glyphs on internet pages or not, if you feel
emoticons are a must have or useless frills, if you just want to display
text in app windows, or compose and print documents, if you want
math/tech/symbols, if you want coding/monospace glyphs, if you want a
wide selection of font faces or just bold/italic, if you want windows
compatibility or not and so on.

That's why the default Fedora font set is so big. If you try to cut it
down, you'll also sacrifice some usages.

You can try to install just the dejavu set (good all-purpose european
set), or just cantarell (if you only want to do a few app screenshots
and do not care about coverage), but it will almost certainly be
unsatisfactory in some cases.

Re: WHINE: Can we please stop breaking firewalld with fail2ban?

2018-12-26 Thread Richard Shaw
Comment added to BZ which was supposed to be "fixed"...

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1533760

For some reason fail2ban is not creating the ipset set... I ran fail2ban
manually with DEBUG log level and I can see where it sets everything up,
says it's OK, but I never see it call ipset to create the set so firewalld
obviously complains about not being able to find it because fail2ban DOES
create the rule (from DEBUG output:

firewall-cmd --direct --add-rule ipv4 filter INPUT_direct 0 -p tcp -m
multiport --dports ssh -m set --match-set f2b-sshd src -j REJECT
--reject-with icmp-port-unreachable

Ok, I just tried running:

fail2ban-server -xf --loglevel 5 --logtarget STDOUT | grep ipset

And this time it DID create the ipset...

New theory... fail2ban only creates the set if it has an ip to add to it?

Spent too much time on this today.

Thanks,
Richard

Richard

Re: WHINE: Can we please stop breaking firewalld with fail2ban?

2018-12-26 Thread Richard Shaw
Found part of the problem:

In /etc/firewalld/direct.xml:

-p tcp -m
multiport --dports ssh -m set --match-set fail2ban-sshd src -j REJECT
--reject-with icmp-port-unreachable
---

But even after fixing that to f2b-sshd, if "ipset list" is empty I still
get the error.

WHINE: Can we please stop breaking firewalld with fail2ban?

2018-12-26 Thread Richard Shaw
It seems at least once a year I look through my logs to find that fail2ban
is no longer functioning ever since the switch from iptables to firewalld...

I've spent way too much time on this but I really do try to fix things
myself and learn more about the innards of linux.

Currently I'm getting:
ERROR: '/usr/sbin/iptables-restore -w -n' failed: iptables-restore v1.8.0
(legacy): Set fail2ban-sshd doesn't exist. Error occurred at line: 2 Try
`iptables-restore -h' or 'iptables-restore --help' for more information.

Well I had switched back to iptables from ipset due to this some time ago:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1533760

Which was "fixed' so I switched back to firewallcmd-ipset from
iptables-multiport but the error persists.

Here's where it gets weird. I finally figured out I'm assuming that ipset
is what's calling iptables (which is not intuitive by the error) and I see
two things:

the "-n" option is supposed to have a number of seconds after it I'm not
sure what effect just "-n" has.

It's looking for fail2ban-sshd, however...

Running "ipset list" I saw only one set, but it was called "f2b-sshd"
instead... Ah HAH!

Except when I ran it again it there was no output so the set is "gone"???

Ok, funny how working on writing all this down sometimes helps... Found
what I think it part of the problem.

Comparing firewallcmd-ipset.conf.old and firewallcmd-ipset.conf I see

[Definition][Definition]

actionstart = ipset create fail2ban- hash:ip timeout  hash:ip timeout
  firewall-cmd --direct --add-rule ipv4 filter  filte
---

And then later in the new conf file:

ipmset = f2b-
familyopt =
---

So the ipset create call was changed...

So how does firewalld know which set name to look for?

Thanks,
Richard
