perl(:MODULE_COMPAT_5.26.2)

Expected results:
Should run without error and check for updates etc

Additional info:
I use dnf to do my updates and that still is working fine and updates
accordingly. I tend to update weekly.

I have tried downgrading perl back to the version the other routines wand but I
can only go back to 5.28.0
I have checked the updates-testing to see if newer versions of the other
routines are available but it appears I am on the latest.

This started happing about 2 weeks ago and I have finally decided I cannot
locate any obvious fix.

If more information required just ask and I will try and provide it.
I am fairly sure that if all the routines/modules are recomplied up to a newer
version that may well fix it. Just looks like they have got out of sync with
each other.

I am thinking I will disable this anyway (once this is resolved) as I said
above I weekly (approx) update my systems anyway so it really is not required
in my case.

libicu 63 update with soname bump in rawhide/F30

2019-01-23 Thread Pete Walter
Hi,

I'm updating icu to 63.1 in rawhide and rebuilding anything that links with
libicu. We'll also have a compat package with libicu 62 soname, so I don't
expect much rawhide breakage: anything that is currently built with libicu 62
but fails to build with libicu 63 should just continue using the compat package.

Thanks,
Pete

Is that really such a great idea? How would release engineering handle that?

Spins keepalive deadline approaching

2019-01-23 Thread Ben Cotton
FESco previously approved a requirement that Spin/Labs owners send a
keepalive request in order to keep building the spin or lab. I have
opened Pagure issues[1] for all Spins and Labs listed on the wiki[2].

If you are the owner of one of those spins and labs, please reply in
the appropriate ticket by30 January 2019 to indicate the spin should
continue to be produced. If there is a spin or lab that does not have
an open ticket, please create one[3].

The reasoning for this is to not ship spins that are not actively
maintained. Future improvements to the release process that will allow
for teams to self-publish solutions will eventually remove the need
for these keepalives.

[EPEL-devel] EPEL7 obsoleted packages

2019-01-23 Thread Troy Dawson
There are a set of packages in EPEL7 that have been obsoleted by other
packages (mostly) in EPEL7. Many have been obsoleted for several
years. I would like permission to remove these obsoleted packages,
similar in the way that I cleaned up many of the failed to install
packages.

I will open a bugzilla (if there isn't one already) and give the
package maintainer a week or two to respond and/or fix it themselves.
If no response, or the maintainer requests it, I will remove the
packages from EPEL7.

Here are the list of packages.

* Package is now in RHEL 7.6
python-s3transfer-0.1.13-1.el7.0.1 obsoletes python-s3transfer-0.1.10-1.el7

* A sub-package is now in RHEL 7.6

sub-packages in nvml. I think it best if we just rebuild it without
that sub-packages

[Bug 1668818] New: perl-File-BOM-0.15-9.fc30 FTBFS: t/01..bom.t with Encode 2.99

2019-01-23 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1668818

Bug ID: 1668818
   Summary: perl-File-BOM-0.15-9.fc30 FTBFS: t/01..bom.t with
Encode 2.99
   Product: Fedora
   Version: rawhide

  Target Milestone: ---
   External Bug ID: CPAN 128334
Classification: Fedora

perl-File-BOM-0.15-9.fc30 fails to build in F30 because a test fails like this:

t/00..setup.t ... ok
BUILDSTDERR: UTF-32BE:Partial character at
/builddir/build/BUILD/File-BOM-0.15/blib/lib/File/BOM.pm line 364, line 1.
BUILDSTDERR: # Looks like your test exited with 25 just after 8.

Dubious, test returned 25 (wstat 6400, 0x1900)
Failed 107/115 subtests
t/02..perlio-via.t .. ok
t/03..exceptions.t .. ok
t/04..pod.t . ok

Test Summary Report
---
t/01..bom.t (Wstat: 6400 Tests: 8 Failed: 0)
  Non-zero exit status: 25
Parse errors: Bad plan. You planned 115 tests but ran 8.

This is triggered by upgrading perl-Encode from 4:2.98 to 4:2.99 and caused by
a deficiency in the t/01..bom.t test.

Re: rpmbuild: File listed twice (but only build-ids)

2019-01-23 Thread Richard Shaw
For now I've gotten rid of off the globs/excludes but this really needs to
be fixed somehow...

Thanks,
Richard

Changes in libpcreposix (a regexp emulation in PCRE)

2019-01-23 Thread Petr Pisar
I got a bug report that the applications that use a libpcreposix library
crash after building with an --as-needed linker flag
. It turned out
that many distributions (except Fedora) have already patched
libpcreposix (in an incompatible way) and that upstream rejected that
change in PCRE (because PCRE is obsolete) and applied a partial fix to
PCRE2 .

After some tests and deliberation, I came to a following resolution for
Fedora:

PCRE2's libpcre2-posix library will receive the upstream fix and will be
patched so that an application built with the patched library does not
suffer from the crashes. This change is compatible with future upstream
releases.

PCRE's libpcreposix library will receive similar fix. This change is
incompatible with future upstream releases (assuming upstream won't
change his mind).

This change is implemented in pcre2-10.32-6.fc30 and pcre-8.42-7.fc30.

For applications to take the benefit of this change, they need to be
rebuilt. I will perform the rebuild in Rawhide. These packages are
possible affected:

cyrus-imapd
Falcon
haproxy
Io-language
mariadb
openCOLLADA
pcre
Pound
privoxy
scilab
sslh
vdr-epgfixer

Both PCRE and PCRE2 libraries will be patched in older Fedoras later.

Re: Call for zchunk repodata testers

2019-01-23 Thread Mustafa Muhammad
I've been testing this for several days, everything seems normal. After 2 days
without updates, I checked ifconfig before and after metadata update, and
update is only 3.8 MB.
Seems great to me, thank you for working on this :)
