What's a good way to test that gcc build so we can give
karma? I'm pretty sure it addresses the git build issue on
s390x (as it does in rawhide), but I'd like to do an s390x
build on f32 to confirm that before I provide karma. It
feels wrong to provide karma based on an "it worked in
rawhide" test. :)

I could probably run it in mock with the s390x emulation if
I'm willing to wait a day for the results. (I'm not sure
that's much of an exaggeration if my memory of the last time
I tried it to run a full git build is accurate.)

One either needs gcc-10.0.1-0.9.fc32 and annobin-9.06-4.fc32 or
gcc-10.0.1-0.8.fc32 and annobin-9.06-1.fc32.
gcc-10.0.1-0.9.fc32 has been briefly as a buildroot override in order
to rebuild annobin, but later on somebody asked for the override again
without asking for an annobin override too.
Right now both older packages should be in the buildroots, and the
https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2020-d927e07eb1
errata needs some karma before it can be tagged in.

The above was with gcc-10.0.1-0.9.fc32 and annobin-9.06-1.fc32.

Looks like it was fixed in the meantime as another build gets
gcc-10.0.1-0.8.fc32 and the same annobin now.

That very issue prevented some packages from being built during the
mass rebuild. As far as I can tell, builds still have not been done
for the affected packages:

CentOS and Fedora communities about the general tasks and work being
done. Also for better communication between our groups we have
created #redhat-cpe on Freenode IRC! Please feel free to catch us

Hi Yongkui,

I'm sorry, but currently I'm not a sponsor and I can't help with your
review. However I'll take a look at your ticket to see if everything is
correct.

I see there is already a comment from another user, you should start
correcting your package basing on those suggestions.

Re: Review Swap

2020-03-14 Thread Yongkui Han (yonhan) via devel
Hi Mattia,

I would like to swap review with you, however, I am new to Fedora packager, not
sure if I am qualified. I am still reading the Fedora packaging guidelines:
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/

Anyway, here is my Fedora package review request:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1812961

Thanks,
Yongkui

Hi Yongkui,

I'm sorry, but currently I'm not a sponsor and I can't help with your
review. However I'll take a look at your ticket to see if everything is
correct.

I see there is already a comment from another user, you should start
correcting your package basing on those suggestions.

RFC: entering luks password on grub level for devices without keyboards

2020-03-14 Thread Marius Schwarz
Hi all,

bevor we start, it is a VERY VERY SPECIAL situation i will talk about
now. It could get fixed by a UNUSUAL approach.

The device we talk about as an example is the SURFACE PRO Tablet Series
from Microsoft WITH a LUKS encrypted installation on the drive.

Situation:

If you encrypt  the fedora ( or any ) installation with luks, as
security of a mobile device indicates, you end up without the
possibility to enter the password, when you do not have an in/external
keyboard at hand.

As tablets do not come with a keypad ( called TypoCover by MS ) by
default, it's not possible to enter the password when Plymouth asks for it.

There is simply no keyboard available, AND additionally since surface
pro 4+,  touch does not work with upstream kernel, so adding an OSK
isn't helping.

Solution until now: TypeCover or external Keyboard OR no encryption for
the device.

## My Suggestion ##

MS blends in a very basic keyboard when grub is displayed. I guess it's
for low level repairs when windows fails. The clou is, it gets displayed
and handled by the Surface Bios itself as it seems.

With the help of this OSK on grublevel, it is possible to use an
(nonexisting yet)  envvar or a kernel parameter to pass the password
down to the luks unlock part. (not to forget, to choose a kernel there ;) )

## BENEFITS ##

This would secure the mobile device and  makes it usable as a real
tablet computers should be used.

It's also a way for other future mobile devices with touchscreens-only,
how they  could solve the issue i.e. linux smartphones.

it gets really interesting as a standard way of how things should work,
when you keep in mind that any mobile bios  has already solved touch
support for the device in question, because they have the urge need to
enter the phones bios and do things like "wipe cache" "boot from .."
"test graphics" etc. etc. which is then obviously touchbased.  Opening
the already present touchhandling to an OSK on startup as MS did, could
be the way to go for all future touch devices.

Your comments on this, please.

Best regards,
Marius Schwarz

unable to push to git: id.fedoraproject.org redirects to localhost

2020-03-14 Thread Felix Schwarz

Hi,

I just tried to push some changes to git but was unable to do.

$ git push
Please visit
https://id.fedoraproject.org/openidc/Authorization?scope=openid+https%3A%2F%2Fid.fedoraproject.org%2Fscope%2Fgroups+https%3A%2F%2Fmbs.fedoraproject.org%2Foidc%2Fsubmit-build+https%3A%2F%2Fsrc.fedoraproject.org%2Fpush_type=code_id=fedpkg_uri=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%3A12345%2F_mode=query
to grant authorization

If I visit the URL I can login in but then I'm redirected to:
http://localhost:12345/?code=…

You may noticed that the localhost url is already in the output of "git push".

What I can do to get this fixed?
Felix

Re: How to fix a dependency to the version at build time?

It's not a problem. In fact %requires_eq does it the "same" way:

%requires_eq()  %(LC_ALL="C" echo '%*' | xargs -r rpm -q --qf 'Requires:
%%{name} = %%{epoch}:%%{version}\\n' | sed -e 's/ (none):/ /' -e 's/ 0:/ /' |
grep -v "is not")

but afaik it also fixes the release

I don't think it does, reading the code.

Re: [HEADS UP] Fonts packaging guidelines change status

2020-03-14 Thread Nicolas Mailhot via devel
Hi all,

WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT

On 2020-02-13, FPC approved a rewrite of our fonts packaging
guidelines.

STATUS

✅ Published
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/FontsPolicy/
(grammar fixes welcome as a PR)

✅ Fedora 33 and next

✅ Fedora 32 (before freeze deadline)

✅ Fedora 31 (as update)

Infrastructure work is now finished and I won’t post new updates before
the Fedora 34 compatibility cutover.

COMPATIBILITY

New conforming packages can now be published from Fedora 31, upwards.

Existing packages should be converted from Fedora 33, upwards. Do not
convert packages within a stable release without extra checking,
please.

Starting with Fedora 34, existing packages will fail rebuild (removal
of compatibility glue). Use the Fedora 32 and 33 cycles to convert.

How to fix a dependency to the version at build time?

2020-03-14 Thread Dan Čermák
Hi list,

I have recently received a bug report for my package ccls, that it
currently fails in certain cases, because it hard codes the paths to
/lib64/clang/$CLANG_VERSION for autocompletion at build time.

This means that I need to make ccls depend on the *exact* clang version
which was available when it was build.

What is the best approach for that?

I know that there is the %requires_eq macro, but afaik it also fixes the
release, which would be overkill in my case.
I have tried this "hack":

Requires: clang = %(rpm -q --qf '%%{version}' clang)

which appears to do the right thing (TM).

However, I am not an expert on RPM macro evaluation and kinda worried
that this uses the clang version that is present on the system building
the srpm, which might not be the version that I want? Or is this not a
problem on Koji?

Thanks in advance,

Dan
