Re: Self introduction : Nicolas FORMICHELLA

2021-07-24 Thread Alexander Ploumistos
Salut Nicolas,

And welcome aboard!

On Sun, Jul 25, 2021 at 3:54 AM Nicolas FORMICHELLA wrote:
> and in process of packaging Canon IJfilter driver for AUR/RPM and DEB

A long time ago I had managed to create an rpm from canon's package
for the iP7200 printer, which conformed to our guidelines at the time.
I don't have the printer anymore, but Petar Dodev has kept it up to
date: https://github.com/dodev/cnijfilter
If you have to work with a different driver package, this might be of
no use to you, but I hope it might give you some ideas.

Best regards,
A.

Neal kindly informed me that this was actually built for F34 too, and
installing the package is sufficient to get it to show in GNOME Control
Center's Power pane.

Could this be made explicit in the testing instructions, or is the
version in F34 sufficiently different that any feedback from F34 users
will likely not be relevant?

Thanks,

Re: rpmautospec deployment into production

2021-07-24 Thread Robert-André Mauchin

On 6/16/21 6:03 PM, Nils Philippsen wrote:

Hi everybody,

we've scheduled the rpmautospec plugin to be deployed into production
for tomorrow, from 14:00 UTC on.

This means installing the relevant packages and restarting kojid
processes on the builders, which will restart any tasks which are being
processed at that time, i.e. expect delays for builds in-flight at the
time.

We'll announce when the deployment is done.

Cheers,
Nils

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but the autochangelog does not seem to
work for me:

The latest commit I pushed:
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/buku/c/dd2d84f9ac02ff6357e239f62e6c4af4da1fdfcf?branch=rawhide

The bodhi update does not pick up that last commit and only show the
latest entry in the changelog file:

https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2021-83bf7dfa10

And the bug number is not picked up and thus not closed.

Am I doing something wrong somewhere?

Best regards,

Robert-André

Hello,

I'm Nicolas, French student sysadmin, using the RH ecosystem as a daily
driver since ~2y, packager for some packages on the OpenBuildService,
and in process of packaging Canon IJfilter driver for AUR/RPM and DEB
(I never got the Canon-provided RPM package to work on my machine, so
going my own way)

Really happy to join the Fedora community

Yeah, it got stuck. I restarted it this morning and it should hopefully

Hi,

Following the mass rebuild, the package utox stopped building on s390x.
The following test is failing, with a message regarding a memory leak:

Can someone provide me with some input?

Re: rpmautospec deployment into production

2021-07-24 Thread Otto Urpelainen

Peter Oliver kirjoitti 19.7.2021 klo 10.53:

On Mon, 19 Jul 2021, 08:08 Otto Urpelainen, wrote:

However, copr seems to understand rpmautospec.

Not really. The release will always be 1. When a package builds again,
end users won't receive the updated version.

https://pagure.io/fedora-infra/rpmautospec/issue/199

Thank you for correcting me. This is a reminder for me to always check
the output, rather than just being happy when there are no errors.

Now that I have used rpmautospec a little, I have also discovered that
it only considers the first line of Git changelog. The rest is silently
dropped. So what would be like this in rpm changelog language:

- Update to version 1.2.3
- Re-enable the test suite
- Fixes rhbz#123456
- Fixes rhbz#234567

is this oneliner in rpmautospec language:

Update to version 1.2.3; Re-enable the test suite; Fixes
rhbz#123456; Fixes rhbz#234567

That is not your usual Git changelog entry, but something special to
rpmautospec. Worse, forgetting that you should not use newlines produces
a specfile changelog with information missing.

This situation considerably reduces my enthuasism about rpmautospec. For
some reason I thought I could think about it as "just fill the Git
changelog, you get rpm changelog for free".
