Re: How to rebuild package using autospec

2021-08-10 Thread Ben Beasley
In general, if you want to rebuild an rpmautospec package with no spec file
changes, you can do an empty git commit like this:

git commit —allow-empty -m 'Rebuild for foolib 3.14'

Then “fedpkg build” as usual.

The case of usd is not quite so simple. I tried to rebuild it as a
co-maintainer earlier today. I ran into a problem with OpenEXR 3, committed a
workaround, and then ran into an incompatibility with glibc 2.34 (it uses
deprecated allocation hooks that were removed). I’m hoping the primary
maintainer will take the lead on that. More details are in
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1991892#c3. As of now, usd is still
FTBFS.

Help with gdal sphinx doc build failure

2021-08-10 Thread Orion Poplawski

I've reported: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1992426

gdal docs are failing to build with:

Exception occurred:

  File "/usr/lib/python3.10/site-packages/sphinx/util/cfamily.py", line
275, in fail

raise self._make_multi_error(errors, '')

sphinx.util.cfamily.DefinitionError: Invalid C++ declaration: Expected
identifier in nested name. [error at 8]

  typename...

  ^

This appears to be due to breathe not handling parsing errors. There is
a PR upstream at https://github.com/michaeljones/breathe/pull/711 but it
doesn't apply cleanly to the current release so I haven't been able to
test it.

I'm in the middle of a hdf5/netcdf/octave update in F35 and so am in a
bit of a time crunch unfortunately. I'm not sure if this can be worked
around easily in gdal or not.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How to rebuild package using autospec

2021-08-10 Thread Richard Shaw
I'm trying to rebuild usd for the boost 1.76 update (I also had a few
packages with BZ filed without a rebuild attempt) but I have no idea how to.

What is the magic incantation for this case?

Thanks,

Heads Up: OpenEXR 3.1 (here we go again)

2021-08-10 Thread Richard Shaw
Just kidding, I hope!

I have a request in from Redhat to update to the latest versions. My
current goal was to get everything ported over to OpenEXR/Imath 3 or the
openexr2 package. That's finally coming to a close soon.

Since f35 was branched there's a few packages I'll have to build in both
f35 and rawhide.

Hopefully there are no major architectural changes in OpenEXR 3.1 and
everything will just "work" with a simple rebuild.

Thanks,
Richard

Re: Packages that fail to install in Fedora 35 and might be retired one week before the beta freeze

2021-08-10 Thread Thomas Andrejak
Hi,

Sorry for the noise, I didn't notice that the job on libprelude was already
done. I checked all the Prelude packages and everything is good.

Let me know if I miss something to do.

Regards

Thomas

Fedora 35 Mass Branching

2021-08-10 Thread Mohan Boddu
Hi All,

Fedora 35 has now been branched, please be sure to do a git pull
--rebase to pick up the new branch, as an additional reminder
rawhide/f36 has been completely isolated from previous releases, so
this means that anything you do for f35 you also have to do in the
rawhide branch and do a build there. There will be a Fedora 35 compose
and it'll appear in
http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/development/35/ once
complete. Please be sure to check it out. Bodhi is currently not
active for Fedora 35, it will be enabled in a couple of weeks when we
hit Beta change freeze point in the Fedora 35 schedule[1].

Two things to remember:

1. The modules will be built for a new platform:f36
2. The signing of rpms is not done yet with the new f36 key.
3. F35/branched release is frozen right now until we get a successful
compose, expect that your f35 builds won't be available immediately.

Thanks for understanding.

So graph-tool uses about 15G per thread. On setting this using
%limit_build, I ran into a situation where the number of CPUs was set to
0 (and so the build failed):
https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//work/tasks/8791/73638791/build.log

Should the minimum value of the number of CPUs be set to 1 perhaps?

Currently, I'm trying:
