I suspect changing the email linked to her existing BZ account to match
the one in FAS will suffice.

Bisecting an older kernel

2024-02-11 Thread Julian Sikorski

Hello,

I am trying to bisect an issue which appears to have regressed between
5.18 final and 5.19-rc2. This is somewhat challenging as most of the
kernels are since gone from koji, and the ark os-build branch seems to
have been rebased after kernel 6.7 release, meaning that the required
commits to the redhat folder are not in sync with the commits to the
kernel itself. I tried cherry-picking them on top, but it does not apply
cleanly either:

$ git clone -b os-build g...@gitlab.com:cki-project/kernel-ark.git
$ git bisect start
$ git bisect bad v5.19-rc2
$ git bisect good v5.18
$ git checkout 2518f226c60d8e04d18ba4295500a5b0b8ac7659
$ git cherry-pick
0dd3ee31125508cd67f7e7172247f05b7fd1753a..6d8a7e484dc667c1094fc90452dee6af30d509f6

Is there a way simpler than trying to fix the cherry-pick conflicts
every single time?

Best regards,
Julian

Re: [Pierre-Yves Chibon] Unresponsive packagers: nknazeko

2024-02-11 Thread Vit Mojzis
 Hello Pierre,
Nikola left Red Hat and hence changed the email address in FAS. I'm
guessing that only her Red Hat email was tied to a BZ account.
I'll try and let her know. Do I understand correctly that she just needs
to create a new BZ account using the email address in FAS?

Good Morning Everyone,

Since November 1st, we have been emailing daily the following user to notify
that the email they have set in FAS does not correspond to a valid bugzilla
account.
This is a requirement for Fedora packagers.

Does someone know how to contact nknazeko?

nknazeko is maintainer of rpms/selinux-policy

Thanks for your help,

Of course, this should say 'F40' and the subject should be 'Fedora 40
Blocker Review Meeting'. Sigh. Somehow I always miss *something* when
editing these damn announcements.

[Test-Announce] 2024-02-12 @ 17:00 UTC - Fedora 39 Blocker Review Meeting

2024-02-11 Thread Adam Williamson
# F39 Blocker Review meeting
# Date: 2024-02-12
# Time: 17:00 UTC
# Location:
https://matrix.to/#/#blocker-review:fedoraproject.org?web-instance[element.io]=chat.fedoraproject.org

Hi folks! Fedora 40 branches this coming week, and we have some
blockers to check in on, so it seems like a good time for a blocker
review meeting. We are still on standard time in places that use
daylight savings, so the meeting is at 17:00 UTC.

The meeting will be on Matrix, as we're trying to move to more modern
systems and the meeting bot is working on Matrix now. Click the link
above to join in a web client - you can authenticate with your FAS
account - or use a dedicated client of your choosing.

If you have time today, you can take a look at the proposed or
accepted blockers before the meeting - the full lists can be found
here: https://qa.fedoraproject.org/blockerbugs/ .

Remember, you can also now vote on bugs outside of review meetings! If
you look at the bug list in the blockerbugs app, you'll see links
labeled "Vote!" next to all proposed blockers and freeze exceptions.
Those links take you to tickets where you can vote.
https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/blocker-review has instructions on how
exactly you do it. We usually go through the tickets shortly before the
meeting and apply any clear votes, so the meeting will just cover bugs
where there wasn't a clear outcome in the ticket voting yet. **THIS
MEANS IF YOU VOTE NOW, THE MEETING WILL BE SHORTER!**

We'll be evaluating these bugs to see if they violate any of the
Release Criteria and warrant the blocking of a release if they're not
fixed. Information on the release criteria for F40 can be found on the
wiki [0].

For more information about the Blocker and Freeze exception process,
check out these links:
 - https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:SOP_blocker_bug_process
 - https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:SOP_freeze_exception_bug_process

And for those of you who are curious how a Blocker Review Meeting
works - or how it's supposed to go and you want to run one - check out
the SOP on the wiki:
 - https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:SOP_Blocker_Bug_Meeting

Have a good day and see you tomorrow!

x86-64 -mtls-dialect=gnu2 change needs to be postponed

2024-02-11 Thread Florian Weimer
We've hit an ABI ambiguity/bug:

  gcc: -mtls-dialect=gnu2 produces wrong code on x86-64

Apart from that, support in the GNU toolchain seems to be quite good.
In particular, GDB handled the situation in the polymake crash quite
well (reporting TLS data as uninitialized for the thread before the
critical call, and producing the correct address for the variable
afterwards).

Thanks,
Florian

I don't know enough about Vulkan to confidently say one way or
another. Especially since I'm pretty sure parts of it are one and the
other.

That's not going to happen because Direct3D 12 requires explicit sync.
That's been driving the change to support it in the Linux graphics
stack in the first place.
