Hi all.
Hi Sandro.

PETSc is ready/tested for Scotch-7* with the release 3.18.1
They could be compiled in Rawhide now. Do you agree to syncronize the upgrades
of these libraries and related dependencies?

Metis is not a "dead project", its maintainers have a GitHub project
https://github.com/KarypisLab/METIS but an absent support. I would avoid to
activate the Metis code in Scotch.

Shortly (Martin is in Cc to confirm):

1) Make a module:

$ fedpkg clone cmake3
$ fedpkg request-repo --namespace modules --exception cmake3-latest
$ fedpkg request-branch --namespace modules --repo cmake3-latest epel8

2) Writing a `modulemd` file based on this example [1]:

3) Build the module:

$ fedpkg module-build

Re: Documentation for EPEL modules?

2020-05-15 Thread Antonio Trande
Shortly (Martin is in Cc to confirm):

1) Make a module:

$ fedpkg clone cmake3
$ fedpkg request-repo --namespace modules --exception cmake3-latest
$ fedpkg request-branch --namespace modules --repo cmake3-latest epel8

2) Writing a `modulemd` file based on this example [1]:

[1]
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/modularity/making-modules/defining-modules/

3) Build the module:

$ fedpkg module-build

They will not be installable together, not for compatibility issue but
because avogadro(1) (without Python2) will not be available anymore.

None smaller version than avogadro(1). Epoch should make Avogadro2 the
new Avogadro since the v2 release (like upstream wrote) is a re-writed
Avogadro project under development.

[F32] Avogadro moves to Avogadro2

2020-01-19 Thread Antonio Trande
Hi all.

Avogadro(1) package supports Python2 only.
My intention is to retire this package on Fedora 32+; at the same time,
Avogadro2 will be the replacement of Avogadro(1) on Fedora 32+ by moving
up the Epoch to 1, and obsoleting the old Avogadro(1).

Summarizing, starting from Fedora 32:
 Avogadro(1) --> retired
 Avogadro2 will have (avogadro-1.3.0 does not exist but will obsolete
any 1.2.0 release):

%if 0%{?fedora} > 31
`Epoch: 1`
`Obsoletes: avogadro < 0:1.3.0-1`
`Provides:  avogadro = 1:%{version}-%{release}`

Because it failed:

$ fedpkg switch-branch epel7
Branch 'epel7' set up to track remote branch 'epel7' from 'origin'.
$ git revert cf25d6d376fc95034decec02c2e1501f97ae4955
error: commit cf25d6d376fc95034decec02c2e1501f97ae4955 is a merge but no
-m option was given.
fatal: revert failed

Fwd: MUMPS-5.2.1 coming on rawhide

To: Adam Williamson

I had rebuilt all them including the bootstrap step of Clp of course.
10 days have passed since then, i have erased those rebuilds.
This is just an issue of how much time a maintainer needs to respond to a
soname bump;
in future, i could even wait 15 or more days before pushing a new library
but if other maintainers
are slower to rebuild their own packages or busy, i can't do nothing.

[EPEL-devel] Updating of petsc/petsc4py/sundials/bionetgen on EPEL 7

2019-07-03 Thread Antonio Trande
Hi all.

Following packages may be upgraded on EPEL 7:

 - Updates to PETSc-3.10.4 (1) (against current PETSc-3.9.3 (2))
 - Update to petsc4py-3.10.1 (requires PETSc-3.10)
 - Update to sundials-4.1.0 (against current sundials-2 (3))
 - Update to bionetgen-2.5.0 (it's now bundles/provides/requires a
cvode2 module, so is independent by Sundials-3+)

Please, test them:
https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2019-1a18c3e4c6

Regarding all third party Copr projects (4), if these updates will be
accepted, they will need to create their own sundials2 src-rpms or adapt
current SRPMs to the newer Sundials-4*, i guess.

bionetgen and sundials

2019-04-21 Thread Antonio Trande
Hi all.

'BionetGen' currently is built against 'Sundials-3'; however,
'BionetGen' development is slower than 'Sundials'; BioNetGen still
provides bundle old 'cvode-2.6.0' (from older sundials releases [1])
code and anyway it's not totally compatible with 'Sundials 3'.

Because of these reasons i built BionetGen using the bundled cvode-2.6.0
code so as to free Sundials updates. [2]

Only 'python-pysb' requires 'bionetgen' but shouldn't have negative effects.

[1] https://computation.llnl.gov/projects/sundials/release-history
[2]
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/sagitter/ForTesting/build/885954/

Any disagreement?

Best regards.

Dear list.

I see often this "packaging style" of the documentation files:

%doc %{_docdir}/%{name}/html

Is it correct tagging an absolute path with %doc?
