Re: [HEADS UP] Removal of ldconfig scriptlets
Tomasz, feel free to send pull requests for rest of packages. ~150 packages is definitely smaller amount than ~1800. Re: [HEADS UP] Removal of ldconfig scriptlets
I'm definitely not touching glibc ;) The rest is minority and probably shouldn't be touched (esp. LLVM). I can take a look after mass rebuild. Re: [HEADS UP] Removal of ldconfig scriptlets
> "RG" == Raphael Groner writes: RG> Fedora packaging is becoming to get heavy magic aspects. Well, obviously we would prefer that the scriptlets just go away and not be replaced with magic. The magic macros exist to accommodate those who wish to have a single spec across Fedora and EPEL, There's a limit to how far that technique can be taken but we try to add macros like %ldconfig_scriptlets, %ldconfig_post, %ldconfig_postun and %ldconfig when possible. It's surely better than having people include needless ldconfig calls just because EPEL requires it. And this reminds me that the documentation for those needs to move to the EPEL guidelines now that F27 is EOL. - J< ___ devel mailing list -- devel@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to devel-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org Fedora Code of Conduct: https://getfedora.org/code-of-conduct.html List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@lists.fedoraproject.org

[HEADS UP] Removal of ldconfig scriptlets
https://ignatenkobrain.fedorapeople.org/needless-scriptlets.txt Here's the list of packages which have dependency on /sbin/ldconfig with their respective maintainers for packages which do not install any files in /etc/ld.so.conf.d/. During this weekend, I'm going to clean all those packages to switch to the %ldconfig_scriptlets macro (which expands to something only on EPEL). Feel free to drop unneeded scriptlets before that date if you'd like to not have some cruft in your spec file.
