Thanks for the pointer this might indeed be the issue I'm seeing.
So I guess I'll have to wait until the patches in there make it into a 
Fedora 19 Kernel.

I had to fix up my grub config to not always boot the latest kernel

Does anybody have an idea for possible workarounds maybe?
