Yep, our information page is at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/Node.js and
you can subscribe to the mailing list (low volume) at

I noticed that there wasn't a SIG already for this, so I hope that this
isn't inconvenient.

There already is a nodejs SIG.

Node.js: Would anyone be interested in a Node.js/JavaScript SIG?

2018-03-09 Thread Elliott Pardee
The goal I have in mind for such a SIG would be to:

* Maintain the Node.js packages (npm/nodejs)
* Promote Node.js usage in Fedora!
* Establish a community of JavaScript devs to share code, fixes, etc.

I noticed that there wasn't a SIG already for this, so I hope that this
isn't inconvenient.

I'm Elliott Pardee, I'm a computer science student with 10 years of
hobby programming experience. My main driver for the past 2 years has
been Node.js and I'm sure that I'm not the only one.

I'll make a Node.js SIG wiki page once I have a few people who are
interested.

I think I'd prefer a web-devel list or so. We package CSS

I like the idea but if there are no more than a hand full of people interested
maybe the packaging list would be better suited.

But if only a handful of people are interested is it really better to
spam the other hundreds who don't care? :-)

I don't mind answering questions on any of our lists. But, if some
people feel more comfortable asking questions on a smaller topical
list, I'm all for that too!

Thinking of rpm, all those should go away.

rpm doesn't solve the same problems these other programs do (and vice

shouldn't require root. If there's going to be one package manager to
rule them all, we're going to need something a little better...
