awscli is actually packaged and maintained (by me) in Fedora.

The sphinx documentation could be skipped: the documentation is probably
available on the web anyway. Or one could patch out the sphinx version
checks — sphinx is fairly backwards compatible and in my experience the
checks are always wrong.

Good. s3cmd sems to have been superseded, at Amazon, by awscli.
Unfortunately, awscli is a !@#$!#@ to RPM bundle. I tried. The
difficulty is the chain of python module dependencies, each of which
have python module dependencies, and some of which have *conflicting*
python module dependencies. The conflicts apply especially to the
Sphinx versions used to build the documentation of different modules.

So s3cmd is going to be a necessary RPM until and unless that python
dependency hell for awscli is resolved, unless people are willing to
run "sudo pip install awscli" and accept possibly replacing working
RPM versions of python modules.
