[SailfishDevel] openobex-devel-0.1.4-1.2.1.jolla.armv7hl requires bluez-libs-devel, but this requirement cannot be provided

2019-07-19 Thread deloptes

Hi,

buteo-syncml is linking against openobex. Openobex-devel is installed in the
SDK, but can not be installed in the native environment.

Fatal error: openobex-devel-0.1.4-1.2.1.jolla.armv7hl requires
bluez-libs-devel, but this requirement cannot be provided

How is it possible that it is installed in the SDK?

How can this be resolved?

Thank you in advance.

Re: [SailfishDevel] Question about connecting a Sailfish phone to Ubuntu Linux box

2019-07-19 Thread Sahlan

David,

The problem is that I did read the documentation, following the
instructions on this page:

https://sailfishos.org/wiki/Application_SDK_Your_First_App#Create_a_Connection_to_Mer_Hardware_Device
and they are not working. The page you kindly sent me has additional
information, which I haven't had time to try yet and which may point to
a solution to the problem. If so, then they need to add the information
to the page above. I can't remember where I found out how to enable
Developer mode, since the Jolla phone manual only has one line, saying
it needs to be enabled if you want it. It's possible I just followed
through the instructions on the phone itself.

Yes, the Xperia phone image upload is very well documented, but
unfortunately the phone I purchased was one of a batch number where the
manufacturers had, for some obscure reason, blocked flashing of new
images. Of course, I didn't know that when I purchased the phone - it's
not the kind of detail they worry about on Amazon! So my daughter got a
free phone and I decided it would be easier to buy a phone with Sailfish
already installed,

slow down boy and read more documentation - it will save you time and

The process of installing SailfishOS on Xperia phones is well documented

Hello,

I always had problems when I used my development laptop in my home
wlan and was wired to the phone with usb cable. I could not solve the
issue most probably caused by my home router. Currently I create a
hotspot with my phone and connect the Ubuntu laptop to that network.
Then I develope in that network without any cables and without any
problems.

Hey Sahlan,
The fact that you have a network on the same subnet but a different
device is probably what is preventing you from contacting the Jolla
device.
Your computer has 2 routes for 192.168.2.0/24 which would lead to
unpredictable behavior.
If you connect the Jolla device on WiFi to this 192.168.2.x network
and make sure that it gets assigned 192.168.2.15 as IP address the SDK
might be "fooled" (I never tried this but since SSH access is
available on the WiFi interface of the device it is likely to work)

Depending on how your network connections are setup it could be that
you have to manually trigger the USB-ethernet connection to become
active.
You can check if you have an interface with the address 192.168.2.1
on you machine, the SailfishOS device is always at 192.168.2.15.

Can anyone suggest how I might solve this problem? I know that
remote connections can be temperamental. For example, I have a

Which phone are you using? Did you flash it over USB to install

It's an obvious question, but did you, activate the Remote connection
option, and give yourself a root password?

Pinging should work over USB, and personally I'd focus on getting that
to work first, since until you can ping it's unlikely ssh will work.

It might also be worth trying to ping in the opposite direction (i.e
pinging your computer from the phone over USB) by opening a console on
the phone and using something like this:

su-devel ping 192.16.2.6

Yep, there are some known shortcomings here. The problem is that
different scripts need some specific fonts, and making font styles
match is not easy. We've done various things for making it better,
adjusting sizes, trying to pick best alternatives, but there is still
work to be done.
