If you restored a snapshot then all the checkpoints that were taken after
that snapshot are now gone -

A full backup is needed in this case.

In order to get over "Parent checkpoint ID does not match the actual leaf
checkpoint" you should upgrade to a newer version, fixed in 4.4.6.

Engine deletes all checkpoints from engine if it cannot redefine
the checkpoints in libvirt. After this you must start again with full
backup.

The stale checkpoint in libvirt should not happen, please file a bug for
this.
We need to understand why engine deleted the checkpoints without deleting
the checkpoints in libvirt.

To checkpoints in libvirt are deleted when you stop the vm.

You can also delete them safely using virsh.

by simply dropping additional 'he.yml' file there when we're ready.

tests shown that there's no breakage so we should be able to avoid
the "global inventory fix" and stay with what we have right now.

We should probably also make some hard
decisions, which I am frankly not sure we can make without having more
concrete ideas about what other backends we want and how they would
look like. So for now I ignored all this and simply did a POC.
I definitely want to keep OST code backend-(or in fact lago-)independent 
cause
lago is not maintained and its raison d'être is inexistent... I doubt 
however we'll

find the time to actually move/implement a different backend to run OST.
I'd definitely like to see oVirt tested by oVirt some day (as that 
should be doable),

but I guess that's up to the community.

from my point of view the best solution would be to have includepkgs
directive within the repo and specify only the package we really need from
that repo. Is this possible?

If not then we should add all openvswitch* packages in excludepkgs in this
repo. But this solution is not ideal, because there might be other
conflicts.

provides openvswitch-2.11.
I would actually suggest to exclude "openvswitch" and "ovn" packages from
openstack repos as I said previously we are using NFV to
get the latest version.

Probably my fault[1], openstack contains openvswitch as well[2], reducing
the priority would help? Or is there a better way to resolve this?

after some investigation we have foud that:

via virsh our VM have 71 checkpoint

on engine's db, in the table vm_checkpoints there are ZERO checkpoint.

Is ther a way to sync the checkpoints?!?

    parent_checkpoint_id: None

This issue was fix in engine few weeks ago.
