Re: X Scroll Event
Hi You can use xkeymouse (look on sourceforge) to fake such stuff. I am currently rewriting xkeymouse and will rename it and move it. Xkeymouse can fake motion/button/key and launch apps after having grabbed some key/button. If that does help you, try the new script input to Xnee. There are new versions at www.sandklef.com/xnee/ I you want to fake from a lower layer (kernel) try swinput (look at savannah.gnu.org). I (the author of the three suggested program) do not look in this list more than once a week so send an email to me (as well as the list) if you have any question. /h On Wed, 2005-01-19 at 18:01 +0800, Steven Daniel Webb wrote: I want to generate a Scroll event (identical to a scroll wheel on a mouse) but from software. Is there a function that will let me do this? I know there is XWarpPointer to move the pointer and XSendEvent but I'm not sure how to generate a scroll event. Any info apprectiated. Does a Scroll event in X mean the same thing as is sent from a mouse's scroll wheel? Or is there another meaning (Like scrolling around a destop)? Thanks. From what I saw brwosing the web I'm not the only one who could use this for some desktop tools. Also I wonder how event recorder will do their job under X? Xnee uses RECORD extension to do recording. Have a look at http://www.gnu.org/software/xnee/ Xnee replays as well, using the XTest extension. Or is there nos such application for X? Tools similar to WinRunner which capture all events and play them back later. Don't know anything about WinRunner! Anyway, xnee (as said) does record and replay. /hesa ___ Devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/devel
Re: automatic / full test
Hi! Can this be of any help? http://www.gnu.org/software/xnee/ Xnee can record, distribute and replay X (X11) protocol data. This is useful for automated tests of applications or benchmarking of applications. ...think of it as a robot. /hesa On Sun, 2003-07-06 at 20:15, Mark Vojkovich wrote: On Sun, 6 Jul 2003, mnicolet wrote: I builded XFree86 4.2.0 on a not full *NIX compliant platform.
