Re: [Development] Avoiding ads and/or Google for doc searches

2021-05-25 Thread Jason H
My applogies for that. I do remember a time when the ads weren't there. So that's what contributed to my error.

And a sincere thank you!

Hello Jason,

Might I suggest an even better rule? Do not attribute any characteristics to people whose motivations, skills, and working conditions you know absolutely nothing about.

You offhandedly managed to call all Qt Documentation Engineers stupid/lazy, when we in fact hated the adds and worked quite hard for a long time to have them turned off. That finally succeeded, and if you search for something now, you should not see any adds.

You are welcome,

Leena

Specifically:

although this contains no provision for voting, only consensus-forming.
I believe we have a fairly solid consensus around this, but let's see if
anyone has any objections,

Eddy.

[Development] HEADS-UP: Branching from '6.1' to '6.1.1' done

2021-05-25 Thread Jani Heikkinen
Hi!

We have branched '6.1.1' from '6.1' now. So from now on all changes targeted to
Qt 6.1.1 release must be done/picked-to '6.1.1' and '6.1' is for Qt 6.1.2.

We are targeting to release Qt 6.1.1 at the end of May so if something has to
be in the release please make sure needed changes will be in '6.1.1' latest
tomorrow eob.

And as usual staging in '6.1.1' is restricted to release team only. We will
monitor changes in '6.1.1' automatically like earlier.

Jani Heikkinen
