Great, thank you for sharing, by the way, if I use Windows, do you know can we 
setup mail server for using with DHIS2. like notification, if the user filled 
dataset already, the DHIS2 will alert email to own email. and another problem 
is can we change the time for running datamart. coz the default, it run every 
mid-night.

I run a small dev server with less than 1.5GB of RAM and 2 processors shared 
with a host, but for anything production I would follow the recommendations. As 
for OS, I've used both Windows 7 and Ubuntu 14.04. The Ubuntu installation 
seemed to run a lot quicker given the same resources. I'm not sure on internet 
bandwidth requirements, so someone else on the dev list will need to chime in.

[Dhis2-devs] Approval Button doesn't show

Hi all DHIS2,

I assigned authorities approval data and accept data to user role. when I go to 
report-data approval. it doesn’t show “Approval” button. But for super_user, 
it show that button. I don’t know what I am missing.


DHIS2 v.217


DATABASE: PostgreSQL



my recommend: suggest prepare authorizes of user role as the hierarchy from 
main function till bottom level function. SO it is easy to understand which 
function is own what function…

you can create Jasper reports / SQL based standard reports - with such reports 
you can simply query the tracked entity / program stage instance / etc database 
tables in your queries.

“ART monthly summary” dataset, the excel file seem much different from view 
dataset report on web.

I created one data element with category combination like: 
age+gender+HIVstatus. And then I change category combination to: age+gender 
only. but when I view in the pivot table, it showed previous category 
combination that I didn’t use.


What should I do?

Every I download metadata. it always has error like:

Hi Channara,
There is no easy way to do this through the user interface, However, you can 
run the following SQL statement if you want to delete all of your data. 

-WARNING

If you execute these statements, you will delete all of your data, irrevocably, 
so be sure you have a back up in case you might need to recover it. 

---

TRUNCATE datavalue_audit;

TRUNCATE datavalue;

The link I gave you is not the development version (trunk). It is 2.16 with

Hi Rin

It is easy enough to setup with either postfix or exim4 to send mail directly 
from the host.  BUT, the most important thing is to have your networking 
properly setup ie. you must have a fully qualified domain name and make sure 
that hostname and /etc/hosts is correct.  If you don't have this, you need to 
take a different approach by relaying to some other smarthost.

I'll outline the procedure for exim4:

install exim4 with 'sudo apt-get install exim4'. Then configure with:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config

Then working through the screens ...

1.  Select the option for internet site; mail is sent directly through smtp

2.  The system mail name should be your fqdn (eg.  dhis2.somewhere.org)

3.  Make sure smtp listener only listens on localhost (127.0.0.1 ; ::1)

4.  leave other destinations for which mail is accepted blank

5.   leave domains to relay for blank

6.   leave machines to relay for blank

Just accept defaults for everything else.

Try sending yourself a mail by typing:

mail rin.chann...@gmail.com

(finish the mail by just typing a dot on a line on its own)

Beware the mail may well be sent but end up in your spam.

Check 'sudo tail /var/log/exim4/mainlog' to see what happened.

It is easy enough to setup with either postfix or exim4 to send mail directly 
from the host.  BUT, the most important thing is to have your networking 
properly setup ie. you must have a fully qualified domain name and make sure 
that hostname and /etc/hosts is correct.  If you don't have this, you need to 
take a different approach by relaying to some other smarthost.




I'll outline the procedure for exim4:




install exim4 with 'sudo apt-get install exim4'. Then configure with:




sudo dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config





Then working through the screens ...




1.  Select the option for internet site; mail is sent directly through smtp




2.  The system mail name should be your fqdn (eg.  dhis2.somewhere.org)




3.  Make sure smtp listener only listens on localhost (127.0.0.1 ; ::1)




4.  leave other destinations for which mail is accepted blank





5.   leave domains to relay for blank




6.   leave machines to relay for blank




Just accept defaults for everything else.




Try sending yourself a mail by typing:




mail rin.chann...@gmail.com




(finish the mail by just typing a dot on a line on its own)




Beware the mail may well be sent but end up in your spam.




Check 'sudo tail /var/log/exim4/mainlog' to see what happened.

The program types are self explanatory to some extent. 




1. Single event with registration is just single event - there is no such 
thing as many times in here. 

2. Single event without registration is the same as 1 except that there is no 
registration of patients or tracked entity instance

3. Multiple events with registration is the same as 1 but here you have many 
events.




So if you want a single event but that allows you to record data many times - 
then go for 3, create a single program stage and make this program stage 
repeatable.

How Trackedentity instance can put many person in one json file for importing 
by “CURL”? and another way, I used php code to generate json file for importing 
by CURL command. But the json file that created by php, It doesn’t work with 
“CURL” command. I need to change to “UTF-8 without BOM”, so can run “CURL” work 
fine.

 mapview_periods

  Detail: Key (periodid)=(427)




I might try DELETE FROM mapview_period where periodid = 427; in the database, 
clear your DHIS2 cache and try again.

success. But when I run generate “Resource Table”. I got the UI still

MY SUGGESTION:

In “section grey field management” of combo category options. Has only “Disable 
field” for disable entry value. But I think it is important, we should have 
“Hide field” to hide some combo category. Because it effect on showing in Data 
Entry, if we has many combo category option cross with data element.

YES knut, custom forms is good for user can do any things to design and assign 
any DE to show. but the main problem of custom forms is when I go to report → 
dataset report. I can’t export in excel or pdf. It work only printing function…

Related to this, we have a big form where most sections are very simple and 
broken down only by gender, but one is also broken down by A LOT of age 
groupings, so the auto-generated form becomes extremely wide and the users have 
to scroll a lot horizontally. This also means it is very easy for them to lose 
track of where they are, though of course they do have the little box in the 
upper right corner which is meant to help with exactly those cases.



So, in general we are very happy with the autogenerated form (and it is huge, 
with 10 sections), but would like to be able to customize the layout for this 
particular section (actually, the IDEAL option would be to be able to specify 
the width of the cells - as we could well have cells only a third of the 
automatic width).




I suppose the best solution for now is to separate out this particular section 
into a separate form, but are we planning to support custom forms for sections?

[Dhis2-devs] work offline for tracking feature

offline. but other doesn’t have this feature. could you add to make all tracker
